Rotorua Vintage & Veteran Car Club

Rotorua Vintage & Veteran Car Club We are the Rotorua branch of the Vintage Car Club of NZ Inc. We hold regular local meetings and events, and take part in regional & national events.

We have a very active membership and provide plenty of opportunities for members to get involved in a great variety of activities. Each month, except in January, a run is organised by the Club Captain, this is usually on the Sunday following the evening meeting. This could take the form of a mini rally or a visit to some place of interest. In August we hold The Sulphur City Rally which is a weekend affair starting on the Friday Night and finishing with a prize giving dinner on the Saturday night. Anyone from the Vintage Car Club is invited, so we have visitors from all over the North Island. We also have an active mid-week group that meet and get out and about with their cars, mainly a tour to a point of interest or merely to enjoy some fine cuisine at a hostelry. During the year we hold two or three socials plus our Annual Prize Giving dinner and also a Christmas party at the end of the year. Our neighbouring branches are Bay of Plenty, Eastern Bay of Plenty, Taupo, South Waikato and Waikato. So within reasonable distance and time we can join up with our neighbours for rallies etc. Club meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month, except January, at our Clubrooms. Members start arriving after 7:00pm for a chat prior to the meeting start at 7:30pm. The evening usually starts with a bit of business and then a guest speaker is invited to speak. The subject matter is not always vehicle related which makes a change for some of the wives! As well as this a member can bring along his vehicle to display. (We can get most cars through the clubroom doors). The member then gives a brief history on the Marque and any facts about his particular vehicle that may be of interest. After this we have a cuppa and a chat before we end the meeting.

SULPHUR CITY RALLY 2026 is almost here (Saturday, 29 August)

This year’s event will be mostly country roads, travelling just over 100km in the morning competitive section, followed by a lunch stop at a rural venue.

The lunch will be a full cooked lunch provided by a rural school as we usually have each year.

After lunch there will be some “gymkhana” games for both the driver and the navigator.

The afternoon run is a non-competitive run less than 100km back to the clubrooms for afternoon tea, then prize giving at 4pm.

The entry form can be downloaded athttp://rvvcc.org.nz/pdf/sc26-ef1.pdf
