Hi Puhoi! 👋

The keys have officially been handed over, and we’re excited to introduce ourselves as the new owners of Puhoi River Motors! 🚗🔧

Pablo and Alice Rabe, we’re a busy family of five. Who have previously owned community workshops on the North Shore.

Being able to take over such a well-loved local workshop is a real privilege.

We would like to thank Russell for his 25+ years of hard work and dedication to the community. He has built something special, and we’re honoured to carry it forward. We wish him all the very best in this next chapter.

Our goal is simple—to continue providing friendly, honest, reliable service for the people of Puhoi and the surrounding communities. Whether you’re in for a WOF, a service, repairs, or just have a question about your vehicle, we’re here to help.

Further to my post the workshop will continue on from the 3rd July - run by a local- Pablo Rabe. Pablo and Alice got married in Puhoi in 2014 and have lived here , on and off, since 2013 , permanently since 2022. Pablo owns and runs slowwater classics, with 4 mechanics doing chassis repairs, sandblasting, rust repairs and restorations- you can contact him on 021505253 or [email protected]
I will still be here (for a while )doing WOF’s on Thursdays and Fridays- please ring to book in.

Hi Puhoi- the rumours are true- Puhoi River Motors and 1 Ahuroa Rd have been sold- my last day is 31 July. There was no good time or way to do it- after 25.5 years I just had to call time. So thank you to the locals and customers that have supported me, I truly appreciated your business through my Capricorn years - as I spent lots of time away from the workshop, to multiple times where I was missing in action due to fire call-outs - you have been most loyal. Thank you to the many I have become friends with. I will continue to live in Puhoi so I might see you around. All the very best and Thank you.

There’s a chance to stop and literally smell the roses in Puhoi this weekend, when Ahuroa Road resident Liz McLaren hosts her annual open garden ramble to raise funds for the Puhoi Volunteer Fire Brigade on Sunday, November 30. The gates at 198 Ahuroa Road open at 1.30pm and entry costs $10 for adults and a gold coin for children – cash only.
