Take a quick look at these photos and you'll see exactly why we chirp on about regular servicing so frequently.

The first photo is of a customer's brakes that came in metal on metal. The brake pads had worn to a point where the pad material was non-existent, leaving metal to grind straight onto the rotor each time the customer braked.

And the second photo, on a completely separate vehicle, is what the inside of an engine looks like after way too long without consistent oil changes. The black sludge (previously oil) clogged up oil passages and starved the engine of proper lubrication, leading to premature engine failure.

Both of these are the result of maintenance that got put off one too many times. Brakes wear down gradually and quietly, until one day there's no pad left and you're relying on metal against metal to stop the car. Oil breaks down the same way, and stops doing its job long before most people notice. By the time it looks like this, it's already too late.

We're not trying to scare anyone into booking with us, but we see situations like this more often than people realise. Most of it is completely avoidable. If it's been a while since your last service, it's worth getting your vehicle booked in before you end up with a bigger headache (and bill) down the line.
