With Project Straight Line 🔧

The brake lines are all replaced, thanks to Finishing Lines / finishing_lines for making the whole process so convenient.

All the hard lines are pre-bent to shape, and it’s a complete bolt-on kit, which speeds things up a lot.

The staging brake also has a line-lock valve, so we can use it as a handbrake for parking or when it’s in the trailer box.

Now I just need to find some more spare time to put everything back together… but we’ve struck a few more fitment problems 🙃🙃🙃

Well, nothing is ever easy! Just need to work around them and make it all work.

It’s always good to work overseas from time to time. 🌏

But it’s hard to beat the weather back home in NZ! 🇳🇿

Test driving after a service on a cloudy winter arvo at 13°C. That’s an extra 20hp right there — without any tuning — compared to a 40°C intake temp in Asia! 🤣🤣🤣

Another piece of the puzzle arrived for Project StraightLine while we were away! 🔧

Big thanks to Rob at TracTuff for welding up these beautiful swirl pot and overflow tanks. 👌

They’ll not only add a bit more class to the build, but will also make connecting everything into the rest of the cooling system a whole lot easier.

It’s definitely hard working on different parts of the build in different places at the same time, but hopefully, if time allows, we’ll have this thing fired up before the end of the year! 😈🔥

Slowly but surely, Project StraightLine is coming together. 🛠️

Back in NZ! 🇳🇿

We’re very busy getting cars serviced, prepared, and ready for the Type R Trackday — it’s only 2 months away! 🔥

The next few months are looking extremely busy, with a very tight schedule. We’ll also be back in Asia very soon, as there are more cars to sort, tune, develop, and build.

Locally, we also have a few cars booked in for dyno tuning, along with some exciting development and build projects.

How important is your oil pan?
Well, if you’ve seen our latest video on YouTube, you’ll know we spent some time sorting out this CD Accord that had been converted to manual. But there was still a lot more work to be done.

The sump was looking pretty badly dented. Luckily, there was still enough oil pressure to keep the engine lubricated, so thankfully it didn’t cause too much damage.

Because of the low oil pressure, the VTEC wouldn’t engage — meaning the car simply couldn’t VTEC! 😅

This is a pretty common issue with B- and H-Series engines, but it’s often overlooked. Another common cause of VTEC not engaging is using cheap oil filters that can restrict oil flow, especially as the oil heats up. It’s less common, but something we’ve seen back in the early days.

Oil pressure is everything!
Don’t underestimate it. 🔧

We’ve been very busy sharing with the HK locals that there’s more than just JDM parts that work—and showing them what really does work.
It’s taken many years of testing, trial and error to figure out what works, what doesn’t, and what works best together.

And honestly, getting the best results isn’t always about buying the most expensive parts. It’s about finding the right combination of parts that complement each other and work together to create the best overall setup.

Keeping things simple is often the best bang for your buck.

Our recent YouTube videos are in Cantonese, which is something not many people do. Most people don’t like sharing their own secrets or revealing what they’ve spent years figuring out.

But we’ve gone past that stage.

At this point, we believe there are no secrets—just knowledge that’s worth sharing.

Good to see some CF4s and CL1s still about!

Really liked the chassis but no so much with the gearbox.

Theres no real full plug and play ECU for it, if not heavily modded VAFC works well but build motor, boosted applications then find the closest PNP ecu and few wires change it’s the way to go!

Due to the fact they are not an expensive car and not many are willing to spend, it’s always hard working with these cars with limited budget.
Or else best to keep it stock 🫡

How long does the turbo last?

Much longer than you expected buts not ideal for road car users 😅😅
