Free battery health check, no booking needed. 🔋

Here's a wee secret about batteries: winter is when they struggle, but spring is when they actually give up. All those cold starts take their toll, and the first warm, busy weekend is often when a tired battery finally calls it quits, usually at the worst possible moment.

So before yours leaves you stranded, pop in and let us check it. No appointment, no fuss, just swing by during business hours.

And we don't just have a guess at it either. We've got a clever little gadget that tests your battery and prints out a full reading, so you can actually see the diagnostics for yourself. No guesswork, no "she'll be right," just a clear answer on whether your battery's in good nick or on its way out.

If it does turn out yours is struggling, no stress, we sell batteries right here and can get you sorted on the spot.

Pop in anytime during business hours and we'll take a look. 👇

Heading away for Labour Weekend?

Nothing ruins a long weekend faster than a breakdown on the side of the road. The good news? A few minutes of checking before you leave can save you the whole sitting by the side of the road situation.

Here's your quick pre-trip checklist:

🛞 Tyres, check the tread and pressures, and don't forget the spare (people always forget the spare)
🛢️ Oil and coolant, pop the bonnet and make sure both are topped up
💡 Lights, walk around and check they're all working, indicators included
💦 Wipers and washer fluid, you'll want these if the weather turns
🛑 Brakes, if they're feeling soft or making noise, get them sorted before you go

Five minutes now beats three hours waiting for a tow later. And if anything looks off, or you'd rather just have us give it a proper once-over, get booked in before you head away. 👇

Have a cracker of a long weekend, team, the safe way. 🚗

Light bulb not going? Don’t ignore it. 💡

Here’s the tricky thing about a blown bulb: you’re the last person to know. You’re sitting inside the car, so a dead headlight, brake light or indicator can go for weeks without you noticing, while everyone behind you sees it loud and clear.

And it’s more than just annoying. A bulb that’s out means:
🚗 You’re harder to see (and so is what’s ahead of you)
📋 It’s an instant WOF fail
🚓 It’s the kind of thing that gets you a friendly pull-over from the police

The good news? It’s usually a quick, cheap fix, way cheaper than the ticket or the hassle. If you’ve noticed one’s out (or a kind stranger’s flashed you about it), pop in and we’ll sort it in no time.

Do a quick walk-around of your car tonight too, lights on, and check they’re all doing their job. 👇

Get holiday-ready before the long-weekend rush. 🚗

Labour Weekend’s nearly here, and it’s the first proper road-trip weekend of the season. Before you load up the car and hit the open road, it’s worth getting it checked over by someone who knows what they’re looking at.

Here’s Justin getting right underneath to give one the once-over, the stuff you can’t spot from the driver’s seat. A good look over your tyres, brakes, fluids and everything in between means you can head away knowing your car’s sorted and safe.

Our service and safety check starts from just $175 incl. GST (common Japanese and Korean petrol vehicles, European, American and diesel may be a touch more).

A wee heads-up though: the pre-holiday slots always fill up fast as everyone scrambles before they head away. So don’t leave it to the last minute, get in early and lock in a time that suits you.

Give us a call or flick us a message and we’ll get you booked in. 👇

Today marks the first official day of Spring Equinox. 🌸

And here at Out West Automotive, we celebrate the only way we know how, with a deep appreciation of a fine spring. 🍷

Note the elegant coils. The confident tension. A robust, full-bodied suspension with subtle notes of steel and, if you inhale deeply, just a hint of workshop. Magnificent. 👌

Some places do flowers. We do this. Happy Spring, everyone. 🌷
