🏁 PROJECT 64 — BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS MINI 🏁

Here’s a look at a pretty special project currently underway at Cartel Works Ltd — this 1964 Morris Mini Cooper S, known as the Project 64 Bonneville Salt Flats Mini.

This little Mini has had a hard life, with years of exposure to salt contamination taking its toll and leaving it in need of a full restoration. The car is usually proudly displayed at the Nelson Classic Car Museum, so we’re stoked to have the opportunity to bring this piece of history back to its former glory. 🔧🎨

This restoration is a true team effort, with our mechanical workshop and panel & paint division working together to tackle the project from every angle. From mechanical work and fabrication through to panel repairs, refinishing and paint, every part of the Mini is being carefully worked through to bring this iconic little car back to life.

There’s a long way to go, but we’re excited to document the journey and share the progress with you along the way.

A bit of private work completed on this awesome Mk2 Ford Es**rt! 🔥

This one’s a little different from your average Es**rt — a fully road-legal race car that came into the workshop for a well-deserved tidy-up.

We had the pleasure of remaking new interior panels, carrying out the necessary panel beating, and giving the exterior a fresh coat of paint to bring it back to life. A seriously cool car and a great project for the team to be a part of! 👌

Another look at some private work we recently completed on this tidy little Toyota Starlet Glanza! 🔥

This Glanza came into the workshop with some paint damage to the front bumper, side skirts, and wing mirrors. After repairing and refinishing the damaged areas, everything was refitted and the car was back looking better than ever! 👌
