Working Bee 17th October.
Hey team, we have quite a few jobs that need ticking off so we have planned a working bee for this Saturday the 17th of October between 10am and 3pm, and possibly Sunday depending on weather and how much we get through on Saturday.
π₯ͺπ₯€ We will provide a FREE BBQ lunch and refreshments for everyone that comes along to give us a hand. All are welcome!
The jobs that need ticking off include -
π§ Track Backfilling
Backfill behind the inside kerb and the exit kerb at Turn 1, inside the Turn 6 hairpin. Fill all rabbit holes around the complex.
π§ Last Corner Earthworks
Topsoil will be dumped on the track side of the new fencing before the working bee. Spread and contour the dirt and topsoil into the last corner. Lower the cable conduit slightly along the inside of the track fence and bury it under the dirt before contouring.
π§ Flag Point Capping
Flag point 5/6: 6 m length of treated timber, believed to be 70 x 40 mm.
π§ Barge Boards
Use 200 x 50 mm rail-grade timber. Under the tower, back straight,
and extension on the front straight.
π§ Gate Post Repair
Replace the strainer post supporting the gate by the main road, which has broken at a notch for a previous rail, and rehang the gate. Use one of the posts stored in the back corner under the big tree.
π§ Kerb Repainting
Touch up any kerbs that might need a repaint.
π§ Clubrooms and Toilets
Check and attempt to unblock the spouting at the south end of the clubrooms. Repair or replace the broken door handle in the men's toilets.
π§ Fire Extinguishers
Gather all extinguishers from under the clubroom stairs, the tech shed and the flag points. Complete a stock take and assign someone to arrange servicing.
π§ Tech Shed Cleanup and Charging Station
Pull out the mowers, old tin, table and other stored items, and sweep the floor.
Leave the tech inspection stations clean, clear and ready for the South Island Championships.
Clear a dedicated area for the planned flag-point light charging station.
π§ Rubbish and Cardboard
Empty all wheelie bins into the skip. Flatten all cardboard before putting it in the skip.
π§ Future Sweeper Crash-Bag Coverage
Ten new crash bags are ready to be filled. Trial filling some bags with old go-kart tyres. Aim for continuous sweeper coverage, incorporating the existing bags in the middle and extending along the exit to the end of the new fencing.
π§ Redevelop Flag Points 1, 2, 3 and 4
Install chain mesh fencing to remove the outdated old tyre look and improve the appearance of the
flag points.
π§ Outdoor Licensed Area
Complete the fencing for the new outdoor licensed area. Evan
Install two runs of black rail-style pool fencing to designate the area, with wide entranceways for coffee carts and similar access.
The grandstand has been moved and may be reinstated on the south side of the starter tower after fencing is complete.
