What a weekend! 🎾

The BYD Nelson Bays Social 2026 was one to remember, and we were proud to be the naming sponsor of an awesome weekend of competition, community and plenty of padel.

A huge thank you to the team at Padelcentre.nz Nelson for putting together such a great event, and to every competitor who got involved and helped make the weekend what it was. We also want to acknowledge all the sponsors and supporters who helped bring it together.

And a special congratulations to BYD Nelson’s own Ben Brownie and his wife Wendy, who took out the Open Mixed Grade championship after an absolute scorcher of a final! 🏆

Supporting the future of EV charging in Nelson ⚡

On Friday, BYD Nelson was proud to host a Trade Master EV Charger Testing & Maintenance workshop, bringing together 14 local electricians and Master Electricians for a full day of practical learning.

With EV adoption continuing to grow across New Zealand, having skilled electrical professionals who understand EV charging technology, testing and compliance is becoming increasingly important.

The workshop covered everything from EV charging standards and safe isolation to fault-finding, RCD testing, earthing, load verification and charger maintenance. Participants gained practical knowledge they can apply to residential, commercial and workplace charging installations.

We believe building local EV expertise is an important part of supporting the wider transition to electric vehicles.

A big thank you to Trade Master and the 14 participants who joined us at BYD Nelson. It was great to see local industry professionals investing in the skills needed to support Nelson and Tasman's increasingly electric future. ⚡
