Most people go to the rugby and buy hot chips, Mayor Hon Dr Nick Smith left with a new BYD!

Nick approached BYD Nelson The Car Company's Managing Director, Shane Drummond after a Tasman Mako game where BYD Nelson had a range of BYD's displayed. Nick helped drive the Atto 1 back to our showroom on Rutherford St. After a follow up test drive and some careful consideration, he decided to push go and order a 'Nelson' blue BYD Atto 1 EV. Nick has been an early supporter of electric transport for years and purchased his first EV back in 2008 which only had 80km range! This new Atto 1 with BYD's Blade Battery and 320km range will serve Nick's needs well and bring him into the future of EV driving.

Thanks for choosing BYD's technology Nick, you will continue to be impressed!

Hope everyone is enjoying the first week of school holidays and enjoying the sunshine Nelson has been offering!

Shout out to Osprey Boats for lending us their 800HT for a bit of fun with our BYD Shark 6 Performance. The Shark 6 loved pulling this epic 3.1t Osprey boat and the large mirrors + 360 cameras made backing it in a breeze.

Stay tuned to see who was behind the wheel...

☀️ From sunshine to savings.

Esolar’s (Solar Electric Technology Ltd ) Lance Double, has been transitioning the team’s fleet from petrol and diesel to BYD, and he’s already seeing a huge difference in the fuel bill every month!

With Esolar generating their own solar power, they’re able to put that energy to work charging their vehicles and keeping the team on the road.

It’s a pretty good combination: generate your own energy, charge your vehicles, and cut your fuel costs. ⚡️

A massive thanks to Lance and the Esolar team for choosing BYD Nelson The Car Company, and we’re looking forward to seeing more of their fleet make the switch.

Hear from Lance on why they made the move. 👇

BYD becomes the first Chinese brand to register over 1000 new vehicles in a month! In September, BYD registered 1090 new vehicles across the country! Our ATTO 2 lead the charge as the best seller!

Customers across the country are choosing BYD because of our technology, value, quality and ownership experience.
