Nelson Boating Community

Nelson Boating Community Ensuring all Nelson boaties have access to a safe and user friendly marina, boat ramp and trailer pa Your time is here now Nelson. Join and share this page.

The Nelson boating community is growing fast but much needed improvements to facilities are lagging behind. While NCC have increased the marina berths and allowed moorings to be established in the Haven, there is still a growing waiting list. The power boat, trailer sailer, rowing club, waka-ama, sea scouts and cadets, all using the boat ramp, are struggling with out dated facilities that are not

only un-safe but no longer meet anyones needs. With summer queues that stretch from the ramp all the way down Akersten street its time our boating community had a voice and was heard on what we would like to see to help alleviate some of the congestion and help plan for a better future. This page is for you to get your views heard and become a voice for our local boating community. We want your opinion, your views and help to make Nelson the best boating facility in New Zealand.

The Nelson Boating Community fundraiser is now open.

Our goal is to raise enough to fund a satellite tag and tracking subscription for a Great White shark through the Sustainable Oceans Society’s Great White Project.

Once tagged, our community will help choose the shark’s name and follow its journey through the public tracking app.

Every donation helps — whether it’s $5, $20, $100 or more.

Let’s get behind it and put the Nelson Boating Community on the map.

🦈 Tag a mate, tag a business — and help us tag a shark!

Know someone who’d get behind this? Tag them below and challenge them to donate, share, or sponsor the project.

Let’s turn Facebook tags into a Great White satellite tag.

A quick note about where your donations go

Givealittle has had to set the page up so the funds are paid to me as the Nelson Boating Community administrator, because Sustainable Oceans Society is not currently registered with Givealittle.

Once the fundraiser closes, the full amount raised will be transferred directly to Sustainable Oceans Society for the Great White satellite tag and tracking subscription.

Dr Riley Elliott has approved the fundraiser, and proof of payment to the charity will be posted publicly for complete transparency.
