A little bit of Overbridge in MTA’s Road to Prosperity 2026 👀

Ahead of this year’s election, MTA has released its Road to Prosperity publication, outlining some of the key issues it would like the next Government to address for motorists and the automotive industry.

We were pretty pleased to see Stacey and Overbridge featured in the Right to Repair section.

Right to Repair is an important issue for independent workshops like ours. As vehicles become increasingly reliant on manufacturer-controlled software, data and diagnostic information, independent repairers need fair access to the information and tools required to safely repair and maintain them.

Ultimately, it’s about making sure motorists continue to have a genuine choice about who repairs their vehicle.

Thank you to everyone who came along to our open night on Friday. 💚

Despite the cold, it was great to see so many familiar faces and spend the evening catching up and showing everyone around our new workshop.

As we celebrate 10 years in business, we’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported us along the way. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Not bad for three weeks…

What started with three brand-new hoists and freshly painted floors is now a busy workshop doing what we love. There has been a lot of hard work, but seeing the place full and operating makes it all worthwhile.

A big thank you to our staff, family and friends who helped make it happen. We’re excited for what’s ahead.

Well… that’s our first day done and dusted! ✅

After moving and setting up the workshop in just 4 days, we’re finally up and running in our new home.

A massive thank you to our awesome staff, family and friends who gave up their time to help us move. We honestly couldn’t have done it without you all.

Thanks as well to all our customers for your patience and support during the move. We can’t wait to make plenty of new memories here.

Today marks our last day at Hutt Road.

Over the last 6 years, this little workshop has been so much more than just a place to work. It’s been a second home. It’s where our kids grew up, where little feet took their first steps in reception, where race cars fired up for the first time, and where so many great friendships and memories were made.

Some of our favourite memories are of Katie. Her cheeky smile, the laughs, and all the fun we shared here are things we’ll always hold close.

Looking back through these photos reminds us just how much life has happened within these walls. Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey and helped make Hutt Road such a special place for our family.

We’re taking all of these memories with us and can’t wait to make many more as we start the next chapter for our family and Overbridge Service Centre at 12 Waione Street.

Here’s to new memories, more laughs, and plenty more cars being fired back to life. ❤️

🔧 Only 3 Weeks To Go! 🔧

It's been a busy few weeks behind the scenes at Overbridge Service Centre.

Between painting the floors at our new workshop, preparing our current workshop for the move, and continuing to look after our customers as normal, there hasn't been much time to stop!

Seeing the freshly painted floor and empty workshop makes it all feel a bit more real, and we're getting excited to see it come together.

A huge thank you to our family and friends who have given up evenings and weekends to help, and to everyone who has offered their support along the way. We really appreciate it.

If your vehicle has automatic headlights, don’t rely on the auto lights in bad weather. Turn your lights on manually.

With fewer daylight hours now and plenty of winter weather on its way, you should be using your dipped headlights more proactively.

Newer vehicles have auto lights that turn on when it's dark, but you’ll often need to manually turn the headlights on in dim conditions during the day. The automatic function often doesn't activate during daytime, even when visibility is low.

You should turn your headlights on dipped when it’s raining – you’ll also likely need to do this manually during the day.

Use your headlights when it’s raining because many of us have silver, grey, or white vehicles which easily blend into the road, grey sky, and water spray. Having your headlights on dipped activates your rear position lights. Together your lights make you much more visible to people behind you and people coming towards you.

Put simply: If your wipers are on, your lights should be on too.

You can’t have your headlights on full beam when you’re around people – it’s illegal. Your headlights must be dipped, even in heavy rain. Practically, that means you should only consider using full beam when you're not around other people and you’re driving on an unlit or poorly-lit road.

Big things are happening at Overbridge Service Centre! 🚗🔧

After many great years at our current premises, it’s time for a new chapter.

📍 Our last day at our current location will be 24th June.

We’ll then be relocating and reopening from:

📍 12 Waione Street, Petone
📅 First day at our new premises: 29th June

We’re excited for this next step and can’t wait to welcome both our loyal customers and new faces to our new workshop space.

Super Proud of our Apprentice Nathan, keep up the great work bud!

⭐ Scholarship alert! ⭐

Congratulations to Nathan Lamberg from Overbridge Service Centre in Lower Hutt for being awarded a 2026 KickStart – Pacific Peoples scholarship from MITO and the Inspiring Futures Foundation (IFF).

Nathan is working towards his Level 4 qualification in Light Automotive Engineering.
