Thank you 🖤

One week on and we still can't believe we pulled that off! The weather gods were not on our side, but we, and most importantly you guys, gals & juniors, made the most of it. That was our biggest Junior class to date!

We showcased our Sponsors and Supporters in the lead up, but they all deserve a last round of applause because we couldn't do this without them & their love of the event 👏👏👏

To the guys at KJR Contracting for supplying some much needed heavy duty gear and Gavins Limited for assisting with the clean up, thank you!!!

To the Vendors, thank you for braving the elements & sticking it out with us 🍟🍔🥤🌭

And lastly, to the Singh family for the use of their land.

From humble beginnings of a bunch of ex motocross mates with no motivation to get fit, who still wanting to fang their motorbikes and cars wide open and make a race of it, somehow turned into The New Zealand Dirt Drag Nationals. The early days were out on a large maize paddock, some locals would say a little too close to Kihikihi township on Flat Road.

Now the 14th year and like a well-oiled pig, it just keeps on running. Each year with a bit more professionalism, correct permits, LED signs displaying each run times, great food, good music and the best entertainment in a straight line you can ask for. Of course, a well-managed Burn out pad to finish off those tyres.

This event now draws out machines that are purpose built to just go straight and fast on dirt, from 1100+cc road engines squashed into MX frames to 8 sec cars converted to mega dirt roosters with ATV tyres screwed into rims. It still hasn’t lost its “boys weekend” vibe, but it’s become a day that you can bring your kids to and have the best day ever for just $15.
