Jerimy brought his tunnel rammed 360 vj val into me a few weeks ago for a good going over, it desperately needed a tune up, some exhaust work and the steering sorted out. The carbys got the once over with new float level valves as they wernt working at all and just pouring fuel down its throat, idle mixtures were all over the show and a few other bits and bobs to get them working correctly. Ignition system wasn’t far off but needed a few changes and a crook spark plug needed replaced. The exhaust had broken mounts and was banging on the underside so I fixed them and tweeked the exhaust a bit to gain more clearance. The steering box got adjusted and new top control arm bushes. For a tunnel rammed 360 it now cruises very nicely but really gets into it when it’s stomped on. Very happy with the end result

Scott’s very cool xr falcon came in a few weeks ago for a bit of tlc. It’s been off the road for a few years. It wouldn’t start, had electrical issues, sticky brakes from sitting and gear selector issues. First thing I did was strip the entire ignition system down. The points distributor got the once over, it was pretty flogged out and worn so I made one distributor out of 3 parts dizzies that I had here and put a new set of points and a condenser in, modified the dizzy to give me the ignition curve i was after, spark plugs had a massive gap which caused the original points to burn out so they got cleaned up and regapped, fixed the weak power supply, retrofitted a new 120 amp internally regulated alternator on it. Took all the slop out of the selectors and adjusted them, free’d up all the brakes, pulled the dash cluster out and fixed the dodgy temp gauge and a few wiring gremlins behind the dash. Gave it a service and a tune plus a few other odds and ends.

I’m absolutely blown away with how smooth this thing runs and drives. Cold starts are amazing which surprised me considering it has no choke, has points ignition and a factory untouched carby. Love the look of it too with the paint scheme , lowered and widened steelies / eagers. Very very cool car this one

Dans VE valiant came in a couple weeks ago for a couple upgrades. This thing was completely bone stock when it first rolled in but dan wanted a different look. We put some new 15x7 tridents on it with new tyres and lowered in roughly two inches. Some major rear guard manipulation was needed to fit the new feet but managed to avoid cracking and damaging the paint. The radiator top tank had a great big crack in it so I fitted a new alloy radiator that we now carry in stock and re plumbed it all. The exhaust got a bit of attention to try get it sitting a bit higher and the left hand thread wheel studs got swapped out for some right hand threaded studs. Very tidy old girl that runs like a Swiss clock.

Blair’s xp falcon came in a few months back for a v8 conversion amongst other things. We went the full hog on this one. 347 blueprint stroker putting out a advertised 430hp, rebuilt c4 with all the goodies, rebuilt, shortened and beefed up au3 falcon diff with disc brakes. We went for a low ratio diff so it just purrs along nicely at 100km. wilwood disc brakes up front, 15x7 12 slot rims all round, new twin 2,1/2 inch exhaust, pacemaker extractors, thermo fans. Two remote brake boosters under each front guard, tuff mount engine mounts, the list goes on and on.

It’s been a challenging one to say the least with limited room under the hood and still fitting all the go fast bits on it like the extractors and exhaust system. This thing is like a wee go cart, small car + decent power + decent brakes means it puts you back in your seat but will also send you through the windscreen if you stomp on the brakes. Very impressive to drive. Couple more jobs to do yet but not far off being done

Hi all! Been a bit quiet on the facebook front sorry. It’s been all hands on deck this year so far. Been putting some huge hours in trying to catch up with our workload. Constructing, moving and setting up the workshop over the Xmas period and start of the year has really slowed things up but we are slowly transitioning back into the normal swing of things. The workshop isn’t completely set up yet but we are back working on some pretty amazing cars.

The phone hasn’t stopped ringing over this time so we have a bit of a lead time before we can get any more jobs in. At this stage it’s looking like mid to late may before we can take on any new work depending on the size of the job obviously.

However this is not the case for rust repairs. We have a number of available spots for smaller jobs to help fill the gaps (pun unintended) so if you need anything along those lines done sing out.

We apologise to anyone that has made contact to book a car in and hasnt heard back as to when we can get their car in, but rest assured your name is up on our list and we havnt forgotten about you. A number of factors have slowed things up while transitioning to the new workshop.

Anyway here are some photos of what we have been up to over the last 3 months since our last post.

So here goes the big announcement you have all been waiting for.

As of the 19th of December we will no longer be operating out of our workshop on Tyne street and will be moving into our brand spanking new workshop based in the outskirts of invercargill.

It’s taken 6 years to get to this point from when I first opened the doors to my little workshop on Tyne street. So to say I’m excited about the next chapter for my business venture would be an understatement!

I would like to thank the following people for making it all happen.

Garry and Darrel from Totalspan New Zealand and their contractors

My brother Marc Allen that owns Te Anau plumbing, him and his workers did the site prep and drainage

Dave and Arna Halder that own Dave Halder Contracting for the use of their 20 tonne digger

Doran Brown that owns south spray LTD for the use of his wee digger

Wade Bradley for the use of his tractor and trailer

Terence McNamara that owns TM Excavating for carting the 600 odd tonne of gravel in (still more to go yet…..)

Michael Pope that owns MPB (Michael Pope Building) for the hook up on some building materials and also helping to stand the frames up.

Hamish Heslip that co owns H&H electrical and refrigeration for wiring the place up.

To all the family and friends thats helped out along the way

To all my loyal customers, none of this would be possible without your support

And finally my parent’s Cyril and Jan Allen for everything they did from chipping in to help out the contractors to baby sitting my son Beau while things got a bit hectic.

Thank you all very much!

Things will change when it comes to how the business is operated moving forward. From now on if you want to bring a car in for an assessment or wish to discuss a job in person or want to come in for a visit to see how your car is progressing it will be by appointment only. This is due to our ever increasing workload amongst other factors.

The workshop is still under construction but should be fully operational in the new year.

Here are some photos of the build process and what the near end result looks like.

Look forward to seeing you guys in the new year

Georgia brought her Xw falcon into me last week for a couple wof repairs, the exhaust was very dated, rotten and on the small side. So I made up a completely new 2 and 1/4 inch exhaust system from the extractors back, finished off with heat proof paint and stainless tips. It’ll be coming back at some point for some body work and a few other things.
