Engine overhaul on a 1990 Isuzu 4BE1 - engine was burning 5L of engine oil per day! 🔥

After inspection, was found to have a damaged injector which burnt a complete hole through the piston head.
Unfortunately the block had other issues too. So it was a hunt for another block!
After 2 months, a second engine was found and sent to for inspection, lower end overhaul, head inspected and installed. To add fuel pump and injectors overhauled - safe so say she received some love!
This customer has been exceptionally patient and understanding of the challenges working on an older vehicle. But here’s to another 35 years of burning diesel for the old girl 🔧 💨

Enjoying the last of the warmer days! ☀️ Catching some sunlight whilst replacing the blow seals on the front reduction hub of this Hyundai HL757-9 Loader. This has been followed up with bucket repairs, full service and minor repairs… not to mention a few 💤 from the so called “supervisor”, as he recharges his solar batteries 🔋 🔧 🐕

🚨 New Staff Announcement! 🚨

We are thrilled (and slightly concerned) to officially welcome Oscar to the C R Mechanics team after successfully completing his rigorous three-month probation. It was touch and go at times—mainly due to excessive napping and an alarming tendency to be bribed with pies—but against all odds, he’s made the cut!

Oscar’s official roles include:

🐾 Head of Security – Specialising in barking at absolutely nothing and looking intimidating (until you actually approach him).

🐾 Pest Control Officer – Results may vary depending on his mood and whether the pest in question is faster than him.

🐾 Debt Collection – If you owe us money, expect a visit… and probably some enthusiastic tail wagging.

While Oscar has proven himself in many areas, we are still working on a few minor “performance issues,” such as:

🛑 Sleeping on the job (often mid-shift).
🛑 Taking unauthorised snack breaks.
🛑 Ignoring direct orders in favor of a bite of your pie.

Despite these tiny setbacks, we are excited to have Oscar on board full-time. Please give him a warm welcome (and maybe a treat—but not too many, or he’ll start negotiating his contract).
