On a bit of a roll with the WP stuff... these nifty M5 needle valve kits are a great option when in a hurry or if there is no need to pull the shock apart. $29NZD

Bladders in WP shocks are in vogue.
This version for 2016-2022 linkage bikes can be installed without taking apart the shock or removing shock spring.

Next to find out if the bounce is smoother.

Most bladder kits are around $200
and can be a good option for failed and scratched piston reservoirs

KTM WP Rebound clicker. If you never touch it chances are it will seize and the conical design makes it rather weak. Can be fixed with replacement parts once shaft is removed.

KTM TPI oil pump and oil tank strainer. While the jury is out on how long the little pumps may actually last, the oil tank strainer does catch grit and filters condensation and moisture gobelty g**k. This bike (300) is having a top end job at 100 hrs which is about sensible although a few hours more would be ok. Good time to inspect power valve while throttle body is off.

It is true that on the WP AER Forks found on many KTM etc, the air chamber piston scoops all the grease up to the top of the stroke where it does less good...and the piston is working a somewhat dry chamber.. Only fix is to pull apart
and re-apply or change piston type. This fork had about 100hrs and probably never been apart.
After service and some l**e the action will be
smoother.

2024 KTM EXC now come with the Twin chamber Xact forks. These are a traditonal spring fork design similar to Yamaha Kyb forks. With compression adjustment on top, rebound on bottom of both fork legs.

Lowering kits are now available for the 2024
range.

Can also do 2017-2023 lowering kits
as well as our compression adjustment conversion
setup for the Xplor fork.
