Triumph 400 on the bench, fresh Metzeler Roadtec 02 on the rear. The customer loves this bike, this is the second tyre I've put on for him in about 3 months! I can see why, it's a fun little bike to ride.

A lovely example of Honda's little four. A quick run on the dyno shows us the truth in terms of it's fueling... it's going to need a smaller set of jets I reckon! It may seem a little harsh on an old bike like this to run it so high in the rev range, though it is a bit of a nessesary evil when it comes to tuning the bike. You need to make sure that when the customer decides to give it the beans, it's going to deliver. You do also have to remember - the decade before honda produced this engine they were building 20,000 rpm GP bikes. These little engines are designed to rev!

Great day out on the bike yesterday. It was good to blow the dust off and make some noise, the bike felt a little alien at first but the flow came back after a couple of races. I did get a little overzealous in the last race with a rude pass on Podium Accounting Limited's Hayden Scorringe... sorry Hayden 😬

Suzuki FXR150 valve job. Bit of a rushed job for Ewan (who's been helping out in the shop). It's race day tomorrow and the bike needs to go back together! At least valve seal isn't going to be on his list of issues anymore... racing is at Kart Sport Dunedin Mosgiel, 9:30 until early afternoon if anyone is interested in spectating.

Honda CT125 through the workshop for some suspension work and a WoF. I've not had the pleasure of riding one of these yet, but was pleasantly surprised with how nice it is to ride when I took it round the block. I've spent heaps of time on Honda step throughs when I was a postie in Queenstown, this has nice little upgrades over the NBC110. More power, rear disc brake, more rack space up front. Very cool!

Quad bike on the back of the truck, getting dropped out on the peninsula after a starter motor repair. I'm keen to do more work on ATV/quad bikes, dirt and farms bikes. I can also do some mobile services too!

We're now a team of two! Richard started in the workshop a couple of weeks ago, it's awesome seeing how much work we can get through with two pairs of hands on the job. It should make all the difference to getting jobs out over the spring/summer season. I've got lots of exciting projects in the pipeline for the end of this year and into 2027, the ball is rolling and it's exciting!

This YZ250F cylinder head must have gotten pretty hot at some stage. Customer had the engine to bits because of a failed waterpump shaft and blown headgasket. I'm guessing the shaft failed and the bike overheated. It's subsequently blown the gasket. It might anger the keyboard warriors that there are two valves installed. If a customer is on a budget then I will accommodate where I can, the important thing is the head is now flat and this bike should live to see anther day!
