A long weekend is a great excuse to get out of town and enjoy a change of scenery.

Before you hit the road, take a few minutes to check the basics:
✔️ Tyres look properly inflated and undamaged.
✔️ Headlights, brake lights and indicators work.
✔️ Windscreen, mirrors and windows are clean.
✔️ Wipers are in good condition.
✔️ Fuel is sorted before you leave.

If you're heading further afield, make sure your car is up to the trip and allow plenty of time to get there safely.

We clean the outside, vacuum the seats and clear out the 400 old receipts from the centre console… but when was the last time you properly cleaned the inside of your windscreen?

A hazy windscreen can become a real pain when the sun hits it at the wrong angle, so give the inside of the glass a good clean with glass cleaner and a microfibre cloth. While you're at it, give your mirrors a wipe too, especially before a longer drive.

It takes a few minutes and makes a surprising difference to visibility.

Your car might not look showroom-ready afterwards, but at least you'll be able to see the showroom. 😂
