Finally a chance for a write up.

Saturday we finally got to race on nelson for the first time this season.
Firstly this was a pretty special meeting for me as it was the first time i got to have my little man Arlo and fiancé Renee there with me in support.
Secondly thanks to Daniel Honey and the blenheim misfits for allowing to me to race for you guys in a teams race against the knights. Was a good battle all race till little muz got me going into turn 3 and car wouldn't restart, turned out the fuel pump switch had turned itself off somehow. To little to late by time I worked it out as the race had finished.

Race 2 of the night was hectic. Went out the gate for the race and felt like something was up in the ass end but managed to battle all race with the fast lads and ended up 3rd. Back to the pits checked over the car and found a bent rear strut and loose bolt in the bottom arm causing the alignment to be miles out. Quick change and good to go.

Race 3 started good then I got spun by another car. Decided to have a play with him and finally got him back and unfortunately as I spun him his tyre popped and rolled. All in doing this on the red light I thought I heard over the radio I was told to go to the infield, turns out I was just meant to back up, but when pulled up infield noticed some steam coming from the front. Bumper corner had gone through the hoop into the radiator.

Race 4 got canned due to time restraints.

All in all awesome to have the 1uzJD on pace for once and good night with some damages to fix. Unfortunately we will not be wandering down to chch this weekend as repairs are more then I thought. So unsure on when next meeting will be.

Thanks to the wife Renee, big baz Bailey Jefcoate, Harry Moffatt-Schwass, Ann Maree Richardson and Darren for all the help over the night. Braden Russ for the use of your trailer.

Lastly couldn't do this without my amazing supporters and backers

Long post inbound.

Never thought it would happen. But with some help and encouragement from a few good buggers better late then never we managed to finally get on track last night.

Firstly couldn't have got there without the help of these legends

- my partner Reneè Davies and son arlo. Thank you for letting me spend so much time in the shed and allowing me to get back on the track finally. Love you guys

-Corrie Carnahan and clint from Elite Exhausts - without your help in the off-season with the ass cut and advice this wouldn't be possible.

- Big Al Howatson from forestry maintenance - your help behind the scenes to make it happen towards then end.

- Mad max Phillip Mcnamara - you and Al are the genuine good buggers of this sport, at the drop of the hat you helped me by sourcing a few things and kept nudging me to the finish.

- Crumpets Braden Russ - well I'd be screwed in general lol. Your help and time to help is something I will be grateful for always, and then dragging me and the family all over the island between moving and racecars thank you.

- Super dave and Karen McSherry - allowing my annoying phone calls and questions when I was panicking about the engine situation. Thanks supers

- Tom McSherry - the advice of the rebuild and help through the phone. Also to chucking me some new tyres that holy crap make a big difference

- Jaxyn Houtos - legend for loaning me his racegear for the season

- Jackie Hobby Jax signs for the last minute stickers.

Its been a long frustrating off-season but finally got there. Not 100 percent finished but good enough to get over the hill for a skid. With no expectations just wanting to get some laps in didnt think I'd be right on the pace first race. Good racing with Mr muscle Steven Soper in both the first 2 races. Last race started off the back so the goal was to try spin as many cars as possible. Got off to a good start till I pushed wide and mad fox Jason Fox decided to visit my passengers door haha.

All in all awesome to be back. Thanks to all the legends that bought a spot on the 'got your back fundraiser' havent had a chance to get it printed off yet but will do very shortly.

Back in the shed to repair the damage and prep for 1st meeting of the nelson season for me in 2 weeks.

Once again thank you to everyone who helped in many ways over the rebuild.

Well they say things happen for a reason.

Unfortunately after a big push the last few weeks we hit a road block. Went to prep the engine to go in the hole last night and discovered a oil leak from the sump. Pulled the pan off to reseal it only to find some not so good things. Signs of internal components wearing badly, so the hard decision has been made to call it a season before it even starts with needing some heart surgery.

A massive thank you to everyone that has helped with fundraising to help me get back on the track. We will be touching base with those people to organise a refund of your contribution. Here's hoping the repair isn't to bad and we can try make at least 1 meeting towards the end of the season. But for now the car can sit in the shed and gather dust while the engine goes to doctor dave at north canterbury engine reconditioners for some loving. So close but no cigar

After a good effort and some motivation in the weekend. We got some bar work in. Last few nights have been doing fiddly stuff and body work. Still a few things to go but unfortunately we have pulled the pin on the upcoming south island tri series due to the tight push and a few other factors. Here's hoping the season will get underway middle of December cause we running outta time before the title.

Huge thank you goes to the lads who helped out with bits over the weekend to many to list. builder tom for his advise and help over the past few weeks and to the wife for working crazy hours so I can be in the shed till you get home

Well we finally have a car back in the garage. Firstly a huge thank you has to go to the team at Elite Exhausts Corrie and Clint for making life easier by doing the ass cut for me. We got a phone call Friday to say its cut up, so Saturday morning the wife, mini me, crumpets and myself jumped in the tow rigs and shot down to chch to pick up the car and parts. After a big day trip, thanks to crumpets for towing the car back we finally have it in the shed to begin the rest of the rebuild.

Unsure of when we will be on track yet but the aim is still the tri series in December.

We are still alive. Been a bit of a change in the camp with the newest member arriving a few days ago. All settling in ready to help dad in the future.

As for the car nothings happened. Once some time becomes free we will get back into it with the intention of making it out at some stage in the season.

Lots of learning curves from the season to help improve the car. Lastly a huge thank you to all my sponsors and backers, can't go racing without them.
