Hidden Treasures from the Avid Classic Brit & Euro Canterbury Car Show

The Classic Workshop is proud to have been one of the sponsors of the Avid Classic - and what an awesome day it was!

Every car's a winner in our eyes, but over a few posts we'll share some of the cars that stood out for us.

Starting with Hidden Treasures - rare or unusual vehicles with interesting stories to tell.

Enjoy!

Hidden Treasure #6 : 1974 Fiat 130 Coupe

Well known for producing smaller cars, the 130 was something else altogether from Fiat when launched in 1969.

Bigger, pricey, exclusive, Pininfarina design, V6, disc brakes on all 4 wheels.

With just under 4300 made in total, the 130 Coupe is a rare sight on the road today.

Feature model: 1961 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Nine Passenger

The 75 Series was only utilized for formal sedans and limousines and was produced from 1941 until 1984.

The Cadillac Fleetwood Series “75” was Cadillac’s premier long wheelbase chassis, the lowest production model in the 1961 Cadillac range, and Cadillac’s second most expensive model, after the limousine.

It was one of the largest vehicles on the road at the time, measuring 242.3 inches (6.2m) in length, 80.6 inches in width, and 59 inches in height.

When new, these chauffeur-driven cars could be seen on the streets of New York and Washington DC carrying diplomats, wealthy individual owners, and captains of industry in quiet, smooth riding, air-conditioned comfort.

This car, one of 699 made in 1961, was sold new on the 5th of June 1961 from Metropolitan Cadillac in Milwaukee Wisconsin to the President of Allis Charmers Manufacturing Co. Allis-Chalmers was a U.S. manufacturer of machinery for various industries, famous mostly for its farm equipment business's orange tractors and silver combine harvesters.
