Great weather for roadster cruising at the moment! Here's our latest work on an Austin Healey that has been set up to replicate a rare 100S model. The seats were not only tired and uncomfortable but they needed to be modified to match the 100S (Sebring) model seats that featured 3 vents in the back and a seat base with a simple island insert in the middle.
First we had to have new steel backs fabricated since the old ones were too far gone. Then we welded up the steel bases and made sure they were symmetrically matched and painted them.
Next we made fibre glass rear panels to allow for the design change and set up the fixing holes.
Once all the framing was set up we stripped the base squabs, removed the collapsed foam, tidied up the timber and installed Pirelli webbing straps to give support and built up new foam cushioning on top. The owner tested the ride height and comfort factor before we began the upholstery using a quality marine grade vinyl.
We're stoked that the customer is really happy with the result and keen to get some miles on the odometer!

Here's a classic from the booming muscle car era: a 340 Plymouth Duster!
This one came in for a small headliner repair in an otherwise very tidy original interior that includes a bench seat for those intimate moments at the lookout spot up on the hill....

Go the Monaro!
Here's a sweet Aussie classic that came in recently for some work. The customer decided he would like a vinyl roof to enhance its classic look and also he needed the window winder mechanisms repaired and refreshed along with new weather strips and seals. We ordered parts and stripped everything down, inspected and rebuilt the mechanical parts for the side windows and rear quarter windows. Everything was then installed, gapped and adjusted to allow for all the rubber seals and weather strips to be installed.
The customer then asked us to upgrade his rear stereo speakers, recover the rear parcel shelf and install a rear window louver kit. Stu installed the speakers beneath the parcel shelf for a stealth look. He also repainted the boot space to bring it up to standard with the rest of the car.
All in all the customer is very happy with the result as are we.

Well folks! Here are some pics of our latest project to reach completion, a 1957 Dodge Mayfair.
For this project we found the original cloth used for this car and used modern vinyls and golden piping cord to restore the interior to its original glory. We had to get inventive to reproduce the door trims with all their detail. We have used laser cut stainless steel sheet with stud welds then trimmed it in firey orange vinyl to overlay the genuine 1950s fabric.
For the stereo we installed a 2 channel Bluetooth amplifier under the front seat that can be controlled directly by your phone and powered up a pair of 6x9 speakers mounted discreetly under the rear parcel shelf.
This has been a fun project and we're sure the customer is excited to get out on the tarmac and start clocking up some miles.

Check out this very tidy Plymouth. It came in with an original headlining and parcel shelf that had both finally perished.
We found the correct type of headlining vinyl and had it recoloured to match the original colour. Surface rust on the ceiling was treated before we replaced the underfelt and headliner.
We fabricated a new rear parcel shelf and hole-punched the black vinyl for the new 6x9 speakers we installed.
To finish it off: a basic black carpet for the trunk. Neat, simple touches to tick the boxes.

Here's a sharp little MK.I Ford Es**rt that came in for a new set of carpets. It's set to be back on the road after being a track car for some time. A real head turner!
