This is the 2014 Audi A6 Allroad 3.0 BiTDI quattro, NZ New, in silver. Under the bonnet is a twin-turbo 3.0L diesel making 230 kW, and quattro all-wheel drive sends it to the road. Someone else has already taken the first-owner depreciation hit on this X5, which leaves you with a 2021 xDrive30d M Sport that has covered just 37,277km.

It's the current-generation X5, and the 30d is the version plenty of BMW people will tell you to buy. The Evoque changed what people expected a small SUV to look like, and more than a decade on, that coupé-style roofline and floating roof still pull glances in any car park. 🤍

This one is the Si4 Dynamic, the sportier spec, finished in white over black leather. Plenty of people buy an SUV when what they really need is something that handles the gravel road to the bach, carries the bikes and doesn't drink like a fish. If that sounds like you, have a look at this.

The Octavia Scout is Škoda's raised, all-wheel-drive wagon, and the people who own them tend to keep them a long time. This one is NZ-new and has done just 39,170km. It runs the 2.0-litre TDI diesel with 135kW, matched to a six-speed DSG, so it pulls strongly when loaded up and stays frugal on the long hauls. The wagon boot is the kind of space SUV owners quietly envy, and the extra ride height and AWD mean a wet ski-field road or a muddy campsite entrance is no drama.

We reckon it's one of the smartest buys on the yard right now, and at this kilometre count it won't last.
