Hi, 5th January is the Day of Dialogue. This day is an annual event organised by the Christian organisation Focus on the Family to promote open dialogue and encourage people to treat others respectfully, even if they have a different opinion.

Dialogue in cars reminds me of the Knight 2000 from the 80s American drama Knight Rider! Knight 2000, equipped with the AI K.I.T.T., teamed up with the main character Michael Knight to fight injustice and great evil in the world, sometimes through dialogue, using a number of super-technologies, which was a popular storyline.

AI K.I.T.T. has yet to be realised, but Japan's NTT is developing an AI that can interact with cars and may support tired drivers awake during long road trips in the near future!

こんにちは😊今日1月5日はDay of Dialogue（対話の日）です。この日はキリスト教団体Focus on the Familyが毎年行っている、開かれた対話を促進する日で、たとえ自分と意見が合わなくても他人を大切に扱うことを目的としています。

車で対話というと、80年代のアメリカのドラマKnight Riderに登場したKnight 2000を思い出しますね！人工知能K.I.T.T.を搭載したKnight 2000は主人公のマイケル・ナイトとタッグを組み、数々のスーパーテクノロジーを駆使して、時に対話を交わしながら世の中の不正や巨悪に立ち向かっていくストーリーが人気でした。

人工知能K.I.T.T.はまだまだ実現されていませんが、日本のNTTが車と対話できるAIの開発を進めているようで、近い未来にロードトリップ中に運転手さんの眠気を覚ます活躍をしてくれるかもしれませんね😂

Hi😊 Today, the first day of December, is Eat a Red Apple Day in the USA. The origin of this day is unknown, but it is celebrated at this the end of the harvest season in the USA to recommend people to eat at least one apple that is said, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away", which is so rich in nutrients and fibre.

Apples are also very popular in NZ, and you can find many varieties in supermarkets. I personally love the Jazz Apple for its light sweetness and crunchy texture, and I encourage you to stop by the local supermarket and compare apples when you visit NZ.

When I think of Apple in cars, it will be "Apple Car" self-driving cars that have been planned by Apple with a target launch date of 2025, isn't it? Apple Car is rumoured as doesn't have a steering wheel and even pedals, so I'm looking forward to the birth of a new vehicle that will be completely different from the cars of the past.

NZでもリンゴは大人気で、スーパーではいろいろな種類を見かけることができます。僕個人ではJazz Appleのさっぱりした甘さとサクサクした触感がお気に入りですね。NZを訪れた際は、是非地元のスーパーに立ち寄ってリンゴの食べ比べをしてもらいたいと思います。

車でAppleというとあのAppleが開発していると噂のハンドルもペダルもない自動運転方式のApple　Carですね！2025年の発表を目標に開発が進んでいると聞きますが、今までの自動車とは全く違ったものとなりそうで、新しい乗り物の誕生が楽しみです😊

Hi, 29 November is "Good Meat Day", which comes from the Japanese pronunciation 11=ii(good) and 29=niku(meat)😊 This day was established by the Miyazaki Wagyu Council for Better Miyazaki Beef to promote its taste and quality.

Wagyu beef is a well-established brand in Japan, but here in NZ, grass-fed beef is very popular, and you can find various parts of it in supermarkets. Wagyu also can be found in supermarkets but seems to look like the brand still has a long way to go to become No1 in NZ.

When it comes to meat in cars, the suspension can be said as the muscle, but engine oil is the blood, isn't it? The ENEOS brand from Japan is well established here in NZ as the Japanese No.1 brand, and EAS has three different types available.

こんにちは😊11月29日は11=いい 29=にくの語呂合わせから”いい肉の日”となります。この日は宮崎県「より良き宮崎牛づくり対策協議会」によって、宮崎牛の味と品質の良さをアピールすることを目的として制定されました。

日本では和牛がブランドとして確立浸透されていますが、ここNZでは牧草を食べて育ったグラスフェドビーフが人気で様々な部位をスーパーなどで見かけます。Wagyuはスーパーなどで見かけることができますが、ブランドの浸透はまだまだこれからかなという印象です。

Hi, 25th November is Black Friday😊 This day originated in the 1960s when Philadelphia police officers complained about it as "Black Friday", a nightmare Friday, as they were forced to work holidays and overtime starting the day after Thanksgiving. However, it now means a day when retailers finally start generating profit, thus going from “being in the red” to “being in the black.”

Black Friday is also very popular in NZ, but I think Boxing Day at the end of the year is generally more exciting, perhaps because New Zealand has strong links with the UK. Still, it's fun to have a sale like this as we are heading into summer, and the mood picks us up!

こんにちは😊11月25日はBlack Fridayです。この日は1960年代のフィラデルフィアの警官が、感謝祭の翌日から休日出勤や残業に追われることから悪夢の金曜日、「ブラック・フライデー」と読んだことが起源とされていますが、現在は小売業が一斉セールを行い赤字から黒字に転換する日という意味で使われているようです。

NZでもブラックフライデーは盛況ですが、イギリス系の国なためか一般的には年末のBoxing　Dayの方が盛り上がるような気がします。それでも夏に向かって気分の上がる時期にこういったセールがあるのは楽しいですね！

Hi, 24 November is Thanksgiving Day😊 The day originated in the early 17th century when Plymouth's native Native Americans helped the starving Pilgrims who had emigrated from England due to religious oppression and gave thanks together for a grateful harvest the following year as a blessing from God. Today, it is celebrated over dinner with family and friends.

The famous turkey, a staple of the Thanksgiving dish, is there in the wild here in NZ and can often be seen in the suburbs. The earliest recorded turkeys were first released on Kawau Island in the 1860s, and since then, their range has expanded into the wild, with wild turkeys now found in most of the North Island and the eastern part of the South Island, as well as in farming areas including Waiheke Island and Great Barrier Island🦃

Hi, 22nd November is Good Couple Day in Japan, from the Japanese pronunciation, 11 = ii(good), 22 = fu-fu(couple)😊 This day was established by the Leisure Development Centre in 1988 as a day for couples to express their gratitude to each other.

When the couple comes to cars, car selection, right? It is common for couples in Japan to choose a small car or SUV for active use when they were a couple, and when their family grows, there will be a gap between the car they want to drive and the car they need, such as a Mini Van to suit their changing lifestyles.

Here in NZ, Mini Van is not as common as in Japan, so I see parents driving their children to school in big-size SUVs and station wagons. This choice may be the secret to a good couple in the NZ style, as both vehicles can be used not only for daily use but also for activities at the beach or in the mountains with the couple and family.

11月17日はInternational Happy Gose Dayです。Gose(ゴーゼ)とはドイツの伝統的な小麦を使用し、酵母を使わずに塩と乳酸菌で自然発酵させるのが特徴なビールの種類で、 16世紀初頭にゴスラーという町で誕生しました。この日は独特な酸味のあるゴーゼを試すのにぴったりな日となります。

Hi, 17th November is International Happy Gose Day. Gose is a traditional German wheat beer naturally fermented with salt and lactic acid bacteria without yeast. It was created in the town of Goslar at the beginning of the 16th century. Today is the perfect day to try Gose with its unique sourness.
