Hello Ashburton and surrounding areas 👋

Between us, 100 years of 8 till 5. Finishing work to find everything shut, then burning leave to get the work vehicle sorted, the bike trailer rolling, or the caravan ready. It gets monotonous.

Then it changed. The kids grew up and moved on. Former partners made their own plans. Properties sold. The world became our oyster — so we made some plans. Our turn to do it for us.

And Ashburton became our world.

Here we've unleashed a real-life version of the grand plan — the kind where "normal" goes out the window.

Spanners still turn at night. Oil still drains. Filters don't get shy after 5pm. Parts that land before 5pm don't become hazardous materials till the next day. Ever heard of a workshop that'll fix it while you sleep, because you're back out in it tomorrow? Now you have.

We're Pete and Rachael, from Midnite Spares and Gears in the Riverside Industrial Park, Ashburton.

Winter's gone and the summer holidays are coming. If the caravan's been sitting since Easter, the trailer's due a look, or the 4x4 needs a wheel bearing before the boat goes on — book it in now rather than the week you need it.

This transfer case from a fert spreader truck was seized due to a rusted oil feed tube dumping its oil out and the idle shaft was destroyed along with many of the bearing's n seals. Looking good now and ready to get back to spreading fert for the farmers.

Winter is almost gone, summer is coming. get that dodgy clutch sorted before you need rescue as well!
