There was snow on the hills this week!!
I know. We weren’t emotionally prepared either. 😌
Autumn has definitely arrived in Alexandra.
We’re heading into the final stretch of our Kombi season now, with Easter (3–6 April, plus Southland Anniversary Day on the Tuesday) being the main long weekend left before winter settles in.
We snuck away to Glenorchy recently and it reminded us how good this time of year is for a road trip. Cooler mornings. Quieter campgrounds. Plenty of walkers passing through on the Te Araroa Trail, all with stories to tell. 😎
Yes, you’ll need layers. We never go anywhere without merino and a woolly hat. But both Kombis have diesel heaters and plenty of blankets, so once you’re parked up, you’re nice and cosy. 🧣🧤
We’ve also added a few extras this season - a pop-up tent for extra space, a rear bike rack, and two electric bikes (one step-over and one step-through) if you want to explore once you’re set up.
Warbirds Over Wanaka is on over Easter too, so Central Otago will be busy. If you’re thinking about a trip, it’s worth getting plans in place sooner rather than later.
We still have a few dates available before Rhonda and Pippi head into winter hibernation.
If an autumn roadie has been hovering in your mind, this might be your nudge. 😉
