The MG MGS5 EV has been named the UK’s most reliable small family electric SUV in the 2026 What Car? Reliability Survey.

It wasn’t the only electric MG to perform well: the MG5 electric estate finished third among all electric cars in the survey.

MG also climbed to ninth place out of 30 manufacturers, earning a 92% reliability score and recognition as the survey’s most-improved brand.

The findings are based on feedback from 39,332 UK vehicle owners covering 225 models. The survey takes into account faults, repair costs and how long vehicles are off the road.

The results put reliability and ownership experience in the spotlight as more drivers consider switching to electric cars.
