Molenschot even put up a sign saying you are not supposed to go into the sand track.
Which of course made a line of Bukhankas look at each other like this was now a matter of principle.

Full throttle, big laughs, and just enough dust to make every bad decision feel heroic.
That is meeting logic with a UAZ, see the warning, ignore the wisdom, enjoy the story.

Winter in Kyrgyzstan does not do half measures.
Snow up to the body, one Bukhanka properly stuck, and everyone out there digging like this was somehow still the easy option.

Then a small stretch of ice just to remind you the day could always get more stupid.
Cold, rough, and exactly the kind of fun that only makes sense once you are back inside.

Overijssel turned into one long river of mud with a convoy of Bukhankas crawling through the forest like this was exactly what they were made for.

Endless lines of old vans, wheels fighting for grip, and enough mud flying around to make every paint job a lost cause.

Nobody was clean, nobody was sensible, and somehow that made the whole meeting even better.

This is the kind of day where a Bukhanka looks most at home, deep in the mess and still asking for more.

On Route 4 to Konorchek, the Bukhanka threads neatly between the rocks, looking perfectly at ease in the narrow stone corridor. Then there is that brilliant sight only a place like this seems to offer: a retired Bukhanka turned into a little house, wheels gone, steel-plated, and still quietly useful. One keeps moving, the other stayed put, and both somehow make perfect sense.

Fürstenau always starts innocent enough, a bit of sand, a bit of confidence, and then suddenly it turns into deep mud and water like it was setting a trap.

Bas buried his Bukhanka almost immediately, because of course someone had to get the meeting properly started.

A little water in the intake, a pull to get him out, and then straight back in like anyone had learned anything at all.

That is Fürstenau, half offroad, half recovery, and somehow still impossible not to love.

On Route 16 to Khikhani, the Bukhanka looks exactly where it should be, held neatly between the road and the wide Georgian hills. There is something reassuring about a van like this on a route with a proper name, as if the day already knew what it was doing. Khikhani has that rare talent of making every approach feel well chosen.

No tree? Then you make your own recovery point.

During the ground anchor workshop, the Aanmodderaars learned how to correctly position and secure an anchor, connect the winch and recover a UAZ when there is absolutely nothing else to pull from.

Correct angles, safe distances, controlled winching and plenty of digging. Because getting stuck is part of the fun. Staying stuck is optional.
