Fürstenau gave Lex his legendary moment when Artyom found the deepest puddle and committed like there was no other option.

One second it was a Bukhanka, the next second it was basically a submarine with bad ideas.

Everything soaked, everyone laughing, and somehow that old box still got dragged out and carried on like drowning was just part of the program.

That is the real UAZ spirit, absolutely no shame, a little water in places it should not be, and straight back to driving.

The new gearbox fights for its place, then drops in with that one perfect moment every Bukhanka owner understands. Steel, sweat, a bit of chaos, and suddenly the whole van is back together like it was always meant to be.

Part 2 of the UAZ Bukhanka Dutch MOT inspection.

Now the real fun starts underneath. We move under the van for the visual checks: drivetrain, gearbox area, suspension, steering parts, leaks, play and all the little things that can turn an APK inspection into a proper UAZ moment.

This kind of look underneath is also useful if you own a Bukhanka yourself. It gives you a better idea of what to check before inspection day, although the exact APK rules can depend on the age, registration and specific type of Bukhanka.

And yes, with a UAZ, there is always something to inspect, question or politely negotiate with.
