Time for another episode of the Mercs in my life. (Circa 1999) The day my dad brought home this 1986 560 SEL for my Mom was the day my whole world changed. The fire breathing 5.5 litre v8 with that nice muscle tone, fully power adjustable leather front seats and wood trim everywhere, heated seats, power operated rear seats, fully hydraulic suspension and a (later) upgraded Blaupunkt multi cd changer and phone kit. This car took the standard I was used to from the w123 200 Mercedes and elevated it even further. Memories of Mom picking me up from school and doing 200km/h on backroads thanks to being flashed by people that were in a hurry, they didn't know who they were messing with! I spent most of my teenage years polishing this car 😂 Little did I know, about 9 years later I'd own my own 1991 560 SEC coupe. I absolutely loved this car...

Cones were harmed in the making of these photos 😂 Some people laugh at me being Merc obsessed. It's not a prestige thing or something else, It's just something I grew up with and a standard of quality I expect! Here's me learning to drive at 17 with my tribal t-shirt (circa 2007) in the same 1983 Mercedes 200 w123 that my parents drove from Germany to Dubai in 2 weeks... Yes, read that again... I think shortly after this photo was taken, I hit a pothole and cracked the oil sump thus ending my lessons... Fond memories of borrowing this to drive around the block and going 200 km/h with my Dad on a backroad with no cameras. This car was a family member not just a vehicle.

People my age are on child 2 and 3 at this point... I'm over here dying alone and trying to figure out how to navigate Dutch car insurance to one day put an SL in the line up 😂. If anyone has tips for Youngtimer insurance, please share! You know what they say, "You can sleep in a car but you can't race a house"

These AI creations continue to impress (more so when a reference image is supplied) - even if I'm 5 steps behind on what's new. It usually turns my CL into an SL but not this time! The first Pic is actually the correction of the original image where it gave me the facelift model, a simple swipe over the incorrect areas and boom, correct photo. Fun times.
