On this 407d from Eurosound, we performed a complete body restoration. What started as an APK control and few rust spots soon evolved in a lot of hidden rust under body filler “repairs”. Our client understood what it would take to bring the work van back to its former glory and trusted us to complete the job. So all the rust what cut out and new panels welded in. Rear doors were swapped, holes in the roof tig welded. When welding was finally done, the van got a full glass out respray. All window rubbers were renewed and underbody protected. Now can the van go back to work and be a shiny mascotte for Eurosound.

Fire engines in for TLC. The 508d is getting new window rubbers and some paint, the 613d will be getting more rust repairs.

This Vario 4x4 was recently booked for a bit of rust under the side door rail and replacement of the windshield rubber. Sadly, upon removing the windshield I came across a lot of rust and more concerningly various cracks in the scuttle panel and lower dashboard support. After thoroughly inspecting the chassis, parts and different seams, welding points and seam sealer, it became clear that earlier in its life the van suffered a big hit from above the nose. Chassis is unmolested but front wings, hood, front scuttle panel were replaced, while the wiper support and windshield surround were repaired. However some cracks were undetected and some cavities left to bare metal. This led to rust formation. Because the parts are NLA, I sourced a donor cab and harvested what was needed to properly repair the windshield surround and I of course repaired the cracks. Before putting the vehicle back together.

Helping in his mutation from 613d to 633d. The chassis was rolled out from under the body, om352 engine was removed. Now the chassis will be widened to receive the LN1 814d axles (2.92 with diff lock at the back), and to give enough room for the om366a and gv4/65 gearbox. The 817 donor is going under the knife as well as a 508d that was broken up for parts.
