With extensive experience in technological innovation, business development and international collaboration, Daan de Cloe brings a strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges involved in international business. At BOM, he is responsible for International Business, Foreign Investments and International Trade, supporting the international ambitions of companies and strengthening cross-border economic collaboration.

Drawing on his experience in the high-tech sector and his work in international business development, Daan will offer a regional development and governmental perspective on how collaboration, investment and innovation can help unlock new opportunities between India and Europe.

Professor of Moral Design Strategy; Chair, Centre of Expertise for Sustainable and Circular Transitions; Head of Research, Fontys Business and Communication – Fontys University of Applied Sciences (seated in the business perspective session)

Bart Wernaart brings an academic and practical perspective on moral design, international human rights law and business ethics. Through his work at Fontys and his engagement with regional ethical initiatives, he explores how organisations can integrate ethical considerations into their strategies and create more sustainable and responsible business practices.

Together, their perspectives will contribute to a broader conversation on how public-sector initiatives, regional ecosystems and business leadership can help shape the future of India–EU cooperation.

Global Tender Enquiry for Procurement of Deep Ocean Simulator 900 Bar by the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT)

The National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Chennai, an Autonomous Research Institute of under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, is engaged in developing and implementing advanced technologies for deep-ocean applications under the Deep Ocean Mission program of Government of India. NIOT is in the process of realising a Deep Ocean Simulator (DOS) – 900 bar, a specialised hyperbaric test facility intended for carrying out high-pressure testing and qualification of subsea systems, components and equipment under simulated deep-ocean pressure conditions upto 900 bar (inner diameter 2.8 m x inner length 3.0 m).

NIOT has published a Global Tender Enquir (GTE) from eligible and technically competent manufacturers/suppliers having proven experience in the design, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of such high pressure simulation systems. The tender is published through the Central Public Procurement portal (CPP). Against this global backdrop, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will organise the 31st edition of the CII Partnership Summit 2026 on 12th and 13th November 2026 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. September at NICCT: A Month of Synergy, Exchange & Connection 🇳🇱🇮🇳

September has been a particularly vibrant month for NICCT, with three inspiring events bringing our members, partners and wider business community together around different perspectives, ideas and opportunities.

Across the month, we explored doing business in India, regenerative leadership, and leading in high-stakes moments — three very different themes, yet connected by one common thread: bringing people and perspectives together to create meaningful exchange.

NICCT x SparkHealth | Regenerative Leadership
In collaboration with SparkHealth and generously hosted by ABN AMRO, we explored what regenerative leadership can mean for business, innovation and society.

The discussion brought together perspectives on AI and digital transformation, global supply chains, biomimicry, circularity, planetary health and systemic change. An important question emerged: what if regenerative leadership is not a constraint on business, but an opportunity to build better business?

NICCT Synergy Event with ICICI Bank, TMF Group & HVK Stevens
Under the theme “Bridging Bharat & The Netherlands – Navigating Growth, Risk and Resilience in India’s Next Decade,” we brought together three NICCT members for a unique multi-member Synergy session.

ICICI Bank, TMF Group and HVK Stevens shared complementary perspectives on the Indian market — from geopolitical and economic developments and the fiscal landscape, to the practical considerations of establishing, structuring and operating a business in India while navigating governance and compliance.

The open roundtable format created space for thoughtful questions, shared experiences and meaningful connections.

What does it take to make an already strong business corridor considerably stronger?

That was the question at NICCT India's inaugural Leadership Roundtable, held in Mumbai on 24 August and hosted by KPMG in India.

With the establishment of the India Board, NICCT becomes a genuinely bilateral institution — led from both ends of the corridor rather than one. The format was deliberate: rather than a large public launch, we brought a small group of business leaders together with senior representatives of India's Ministry of Commerce and DPIIT and the Consulate-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Mumbai, for a closed-door working conversation.

Participants mapped where the opportunities are emerging — energy transition, maritime and logistics, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, agriculture and food systems, digital technologies — and the India–EU FTA adds a further dimension, giving companies a window to prepare.

They were equally candid about what stands between opportunity and ex*****on: GST and customs, regulatory clarity, documentation, standards, mobility, and the long distance from policy to implementation.

That is where NICCT India can build something distinctive — a trusted channel where companies raise practical friction openly and government responds directly.

The Roundtable closed with a clear first agenda: FTA readiness, a stronger collective business voice, tackling implementation bottlenecks, and building a meaningful membership platform. Participants did not simply name the challenges — they volunteered to take the work forward.

The next chapter is not about creating this corridor. It is about making it more connected, more predictable and significantly more valuable on both sides.
