We continue expanding our footprint in Asia with the acquisition of Seatrium Group’s towage assets and shipyard towage services in Singapore, one of the world’s leading port hubs.

Over the past five years, Boluda Towage has developed a sustained growth strategy across the Asia-Pacific region, establishing a strong presence in Singapore and key ports in Malaysia. With a fleet of 156 tugboats operating in the region, the company has consolidated its capabilities in one of the most dynamic maritime markets worldwide.

VB Boluman entered service on the River Thames this week, strengthening Boluda UK’s Towage capability with the arrival of a new RSD 2513 tug, recently delivered from Shipyards in Vietnam.

The vessel is a state of the art Reversed Stern Drive (RSD) tug, specifically designed for high performance harbour and es**rt operations. With an 80 tonne bollard pull and full es**rt notation, VB Boluman is fully equipped to safely assist the largest vessels navigating the highly tidal and demanding waters of the Thames.

Measuring 24.7 metres in length with a beam of 13.1 metres, delivers exceptional power within a compact hull form. She is powered by twin Caterpillar 3516C main engines, delivering a combined output of over 5,000 kW, driving Kongsberg azimuthing rudder propellers in nozzles. This configuration provides outstanding manoeuvrability, precise control and strong indirect es**rt forces, even in challenging tidal conditions.

The tug is fully IMO Tier III compliant, achieving the most stringent NOx emission limits through an integrated Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system with dedicated urea tanks. This underlines Boluda Towage's ongoing commitment to reducing emissions and operating a more environmentally responsible fleet.

This highly capable addition will immediately begin operations on the River Thames, supporting both large deep sea vessels and smaller, more intricate movements within the hashtag .

Her combination of high power, compact dimensions and advanced systems makes VB Boluman ideally suited to the varied demands of one of the UK’s busiest and most complex waterways. Welcome to the family!

Trek Antwerp Half Marathon: team spirit on land and at sea!

A strong representation from our Boluda Towage leadership team proudly took on the 21K half marathon challenge of Antwerp, that celebrated its 5th edition bringing together nearly 20,000 runners from 54 countries across the marathon, half marathon, and 10K races.

Today, José Antonio Merchán, CEO of Boluda Towage Spain & Portugal, and Daniel Morales, Boluda Shipping’s delegate in Cádiz, joined ‘Herrera en COPE', a leading Spanish radio program, live from Puerto de Santamaría.

They highlighted how Boluda has become a key driver of progress for Cádiz Port and the surrounding region. From the “precise dance” of tugboats guiding massive vessels safely to berth, to the innovative ‘Daily Canarias’ service, delivering weekly fresh goods to the Canary Islands.

🚢 A successful towing operation in the Strait of Gibraltar!

Our Gibraltar fleet plays a vital role in ensuring safe operations in this key maritime corridor.

As shown here, with VB Rooke, VB Wellington, and VB Eliott - three of our five Gibraltar-based tugboats - assisting a vessel at the entrance to the shipyard, teamwork is at the heart of every . Coordination, responsiveness, and expertise are essential to delivering efficient operations in one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes.

Indeed, is one of most strategic maritime areas in the world, with over 100,000 vessels crossing the Strait each year. That’s why having a powerful, well-prepared fleet is essential - and why we are proud of the strength and reliability of our local team.

With the addition last year of the VB Responder, our Gibraltar fleet now consists of five tugs, committed to maintaining the highest standards of service.

📢🚢 🏥Towing Solidarity: Boluda Towage assists the world’s largest hospital ship in Cádiz

As part of our ongoing collaboration with the Mercy Ships Foundation, Boluda Towage proudly continues to support their humanitarian missions by assisting the hospital vessel wherever our fleet operates worldwide.

This week, the - the world’s largest civilian hospital ship - arrived at the Navantia shipyard in Cádiz assisted by our local tug fleet: VB ROTA, VB JEREZ, VB CADIZ, and VB ALMERIA.

The Global Mercy is 174 meters long and houses:

🛏️ 6 fully equipped operating theatres
🏥 Space for 200 patients
👨‍⚕️ 7,000 m² of hospital facilities

We are proud to contribute to such a meaningful mission, towing not just ships but hope and healing across the globe!

📢🚢 Seamless Assistance for the giant KUGIRA in the Port of Valencia

Yesterday morning, the Port of Valencia became the stage for a remarkable display of coordination and maritime expertise as our team successfully assisted the arrival of , one of the largest floating caisson construction docks in the world.

However, the real operation began 6 days ago when VB HISPANIA - one of our most powerful tugs - towed KUGIRA from the port of Cádiz to Valencia es**rted by tug BOLUDA FOS. Once into Valencia’s port, VB CONQUERIDOR, VB SOÑADOR, VB PODER, and VB FURIA joined forces to ensure its safe and precise positioning.

The sheer scale of KUGIRA is truly remarkable:

🏗️ 56 meters high – the height of an 18-story building
📏 74 meters long and 49 meters wide
🧱 Capable of producing concrete caissons up to 24,000 tonnes

📢🚢 Boluda Towage assists Van Oord’s Newbuilt BOREAS in Rotterdam

Van Oord’s newbuild vessel BOREAS was assisted by our tugs VB MARS, VB ROTTERDAM, and VB HUDSON.

Following a docking operation, BOREAS was safely shifted to the Wilhelmina Quay, right in the heart of the Port of Rotterdam, where took place her christening ceremony.

We are proud to have contributed to the success and safety of this special operation, and we wish BOREAS fair winds and following seas as she begins her journey!

🚢 Supporting the Juan Sebastián de Elcano in the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴

Last week, the iconic Spanish Navy training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano received assistance from our fleet at Punta Torrecilla Pier in the Dominican Republic.

The operation was carried out by our tugboats 🚢 VB RON and VB BONGO, both based in Riojaina. Thanks to the expertise and dedication of our local team, the vessel was safely maneuvered during one of its final stops before beginning its transatlantic journey to 🗽New York.

🌊 As with every stage of the Juan Sebastián de Elcano’s global voyage, it has been a true privilege for Boluda Towage to support this historic journey. See you next year!
