A look at the final result!
For two of our project engines, we developed custom pistons—precision-engineered and built to perform.

Piston 1 is for a high comp xu engine
Piston 2 is for a budget orintated 1840cc TU engine

TU5 16V NA Engine. This engine is intended for a Citroën Saxo. (almost the same engine as the one posted in March)

Main specs of the engine:

TU5 8v NA Engine. This engine is intended for a Peugeot 106 S1 Rallye

Main specs of the engine:
-Custom valve seals

-Ported head
-Cometic headgasket

-Carillo A profile conrods
-Baffle sump
-Specially set up oil pump

We did not prepare the cylinder head and did not design the cam, we only improved it since there were a few defects with the head.

Goal of the engine is 170hp and 175nm

Big bore XU aluminium block liners.

We developed these liners to go from an 83mm bore to an 88mm bore.

This is to go with an 88mm stroke to a 2140CC engine volume.

The liners are not a plug and play solution. The enigne block must be milled in make allow the liners to fit in to the engine.

Here are 2 crankcases that are knife edged and where 1 the counterweights are milled down

Of course, after the machining the crankshafts must be balanced.

TU Turbo engine. This engine is intended for a Peugeot 206.

Not a very special engine but one that will be used well. The main goal of this engine is efficiency and reliability on the track

From our own development a high RPM TU5 STD stroke crankshaft.

The crankshaft are manufactured from a solid billet of very high specification EN40B (722M24) material. The material is specially selected to ensure that it is particularly clean ensuring that oxide and sulphide content is minimised. This gives major improvement in the strength and ductility of the material and greatly improves fracture resistance. Our material should not be confused with other (cheaper) steels that are used in crankshaft manufacture!

The design incorporates eight counterweights to increase reliability at high rpm by reducing the loads on the crank bearings generated by the connecting rod and piston inertia. The counterweights are knife edged to reduce drag and are pocketed to remove inefficient mass, helping to reduce overall inertia and improve throttle response. The oil supply galleries are fully linked through the crank and feature new outlet positions in the big ends to optimise the supply of oil to the connecting rod bearings. A price axle bearing also fits into the crankshaft for use with sequantial gearboxes with multi-part primary axles.
