FIREFLY Friday ! Been a busy couple weeks on the firefly. Bogies and ldlet bracket all fitted meaning she’s now a rolling hill for the first time in over a year.

Engine bay has now began to take shape, conduits going in with wiring. Fuel tanks all tucked up nice and tight. Also the clutch mechanism mounted ready for the next steps.

The turret is also beginning to take shape. We’ve issues with making parts fit given these things were so often “custom fits” but cradle and gun shield will all be fitted next week ready to receive the mighty 17PDR. NOTE the Pershing 90mm shield next to the firefly shield the difference in size is interesting to see side by side.

Have a lovely weekend and go check out our new YOUTUBE video.

SHERMAN TANK ROTISSERIE arrived

We recently acquired the famous Sherman tank rotisserie from some fellow Sherman restores in ENGLAND. Our intention is to use it on the Pershing project and of course in years to come on shot up hills to allow for easier larger welding projects.

The best part is the early M4 Sherman in the last photo which is in our workshop at the moment was repaired in this rotisserie in the UK. So I guess you could say it’s a full circle moment for both of them.

More to come on putting it back together and hopefully soon putting it to use.
