🚤 RE-POWER COMPLETE: Before & After the Diemmax Revolution! 🔄
Look at all that extra room in the engine bay! We just wrapped up a conversion, swapping out an old, bulky 280-300 HP cast-iron gasoline V8 for the all-new Diemmax 6 Series diesel engine. 🤯
A lot of boaters think switching to diesel means sacrificing space and adding heavy weight.
This project proves the exact opposite. When you stack this modern inline-6 up against a traditional old-school V8 block, the numbers don't lie:
Massive Space Gains 📏The inline-6 architecture of the Diemmax is only 725 mm wide. Classic gasoline V8s easily push past 800 mm. By narrowing the engine footprint, we unlocked valuable clearance on both sides of the bay, making future maintenance and bilge access incredibly easy.Shaving Off the Weight
⚖️The Diemmax 6 Series weighs a mere 280 kg (617 lbs) dry. The old cast-iron 300 hp V8 blocks routinely tip the scales between 410 and 440 kg. That means we just lightened the stern by more than 130 kg (285+ lbs)! The boat gets up on plane effortlessly now.
Slashing Fuel Consumption ⛽Older, large-displacement gasoline engines are notorious for burning fuel just to turn heavy internal parts.
By moving to modern diesel common-rail efficiency, this boat will cut its hourly fuel burn by 30% to 40% at cruise speed—massively extending its offshore range.Less weight, vastly lower fuel bills, zero range anxiety, and an engine room where you can actually breathe.
This is what a smart marine upgrade looks like.
