Race report!

Yesterday we had the pleasure of driving in the alongside a few other compacts and some more serious BMW's. The weather held out for the day so thats always a bonus. Unfortunately right out of the gate we hit some issues during qualifying, mainly not being able to shift (smoothly) through the gears. I was able to put down a time of 2:11 which put me in 8th place for the 1st race. After Qualifying I drove back to the workshop to get another clutch slave cylinder hoping that would fix the problem, but alas, no noticeable difference. Went through race 1 all in 4th gear, managed to not get last which was nice and a 2:10 on the timer. Rear brake pads decided to give the ghost end of the stint, so we changed those out prior to race 2. Many thanks to both Danny and Edwin for getting/having the parts on hand so that we could keep on racing. Race 2 i faced the same issue with the gearbox so all in 4th gear again. Put up a few more 2:10's on the timer and managed to come in 2nd in my class again:). So end of the day we went home with a nice trophy for 2nd place in our division and some work on the cars. All in all a nice day. Huge thanks to Vincent who sacrificed his day off to help us and the people who came to watch:). Now back to work in the workshop to fix the issues we found and get back stronger!

En zo sta je om 9 uur 's avonds aan het end van de wereld een auto op de trailer te laden.... nog een Vauxhall, zelfde bouwjaar als de , maar stiekem wel veel kleine verschillen. Sinds 1998 van de weg, dus dat is nog vrij recent. Morgen maar eens kijken wat voor vlees we in de kuip hebben.
