The BMW S55 engine is known for its performance potential, but also for one critical weak point: the stock crank hub.

From factory, the crank hub relies on a friction fit design to keep the timing sprocket in place on the crankshaft. Under increased torque, higher boost and repeated load, that friction can be overcome, which may lead to timing movement and in worst cases serious internal engine damage.

That is exactly why we developed the Mosselman S55 Upgrade Crank Hub.

This upgraded solution replaces the factory design with a precision engineered pinned system that mechanically locks the timing sprocket to the crankshaft. No reliance on friction alone, but a secure and stable connection designed for high performance use.

The result is simple. A much stronger foundation for your engine. Especially important for tuned S55 setups running Stage 2 or Stage 3 power levels, track use or repeated high load driving.

If you are increasing power, this is not an optional upgrade anymore. It is preventative protection that helps ensure your engine stays in time, even under extreme stress.

WHAT IF AN ALREADY MODIFIED S58 STILL ISN’T ENOUGH? 👀🔥

This is no ordinary BMW 3 Series. This brand-new ALPINA B3 GT combines BMW M’s S58 engine with ALPINA’s own engineering, creating a very different take on the high-performance six-cylinder.

ALPINA has reworked key parts of the engine package, including the turbochargers, intake system, cooling and engine calibration. The result from the factory is already an impressive 529 hp and 730 Nm.

But we wanted to see what more we could get out of it.

We developed a custom Mosselman Stage 1 remap specifically for this B3 GT and fine-tuned the software on our dyno to work with its unique setup.

**The result?**

595 hp and 808 Nm of torque. 🚀

That’s a serious step up for a car that already stands apart from the standard BMW M3. And the best part? We achieved it with a custom software calibration.

The first ALPINA B3 GT tuned by Mosselman Turbo Systems. Definitely not an everyday car on our dyno!

An extra 210 hp for this BMW 320e! 🤯

The Evolution Racewerks catted downpipe, combined with the OPF delete midpipe, allows the engine to breathe more freely than with the factory exhaust system. Reduced exhaust backpressure helps improve turbo response and efficiency under load, working perfectly alongside our Stage 2+ software.

To keep the extra power under control, this 320e is also equipped with a serious M Performance red brake setup. Not only a major visual upgrade, but also the braking performance to match a build like this.

**The result?**

417 hp and 622 Nm of torque from a BMW 320e. 🚀

BMW M3 F80 with Mosselman upgrades! 🔧🔥

For this M3 powered by the well-known S55 engine, we carried out two important upgrades to improve both engine reliability and temperature control. On high-performance S55 builds, addressing potential weak points before they become problems is essential.

Here’s what we installed:
• Mosselman S55 Crank Hub Upgrade
• Mosselman Oil Thermostat

The factory S55 crank hub relies on a friction-fit connection. At higher power levels, increased boost or under demanding driving conditions, this connection can slip, causing the engine timing to shift. In the worst-case scenario, this can result in severe engine damage.

Our Mosselman Crank Hub Upgrade significantly reduces this risk. Its pinned design mechanically locks the timing sprocket to the crankshaft, helping prevent unwanted movement. An essential upgrade for anyone looking to keep their S55 reliable, especially in tuned or hard-driven cars.

We also installed a Mosselman Oil Thermostat. It opens at 85°C instead of the factory 105°C, helping keep oil temperatures lower and more stable under load. This supports consistent lubrication and performance, particularly during spirited driving or track use.

With these upgrades, this BMW M3 F80 has a stronger foundation for reliable performance, allowing its owner to enjoy everything the S55 has to offer with greater peace of mind. 🚀

Some cars look the part. This G81 sounds the part too.

Already fitted with Eventuri carbon intakes and an Akrapovič rear silencer, this M3 came back to us for the next step. We installed an Akrapovič midpipe, unlocked the ECU and fine-tuned the software to suit the complete setup.

The result? 670 hp and 840 Nm of torque. 💥

The looks, the sound and the performance. This is what makes the G81 M3 Touring such a special all-rounder.

Deze dikke G81 was al voorzien van carbon Eventuri intakes en een Akrapovič einddemper. Tijd voor de volgende upgrade!

We hebben een Akrapovič midpipe geïnstalleerd en de auto naar Stage 1+ gebracht. In combinatie met onze ECU-unlock hebben we de software volledig custom afgestemd op de complete setup.

Het resultaat? 670 pk en 840 Nm koppel. 💥

Een M3 Touring die er niet alleen dik uitziet, maar ook flink wat prestaties in huis heeft. En met de Akrapovič-uitlaat klinkt hij net zo serieus als hij eruitziet. 🔊
