A recent sighting of Wilson ECO I in port offers a direct look at the first of six CIP3800 vessels designed for Wilson. At the same time, the first of eight larger CIP6300 vessels is reaching completion at Cochin Shipyard.

With an industry full of history, we have the advantage of drawing inspiration from the past. 🌊

Melody joined Conoship as an intern ready to re-imagine the possibilities of cargo shipping. Her idea was to pull inspiration from ancient sailing vessels, like tea clippers, and integrate some of their characteristics that made these vessels very efficient under sail. ⛡️

The goal was to investigate whether these design features can improve the hydrodynamic performance of modern sailing cargo vessels.

So when our team in Rotterdam walked out the door last week and saw Echo Petra docked right at the Parkkade, it was a moment worth stopping for.

Construction is officially underway on the first-ever CIP6300 general cargo vessel, marking the premiere of our 6,300 DWT standard design. This lead vessel is the first of eight CIP6300 ships scheduled for construction.
