Gran Turismo Alleggerita. Lightened. Back in 1965, Alfa Romeo took the already brilliant Giulia Sprint GT and put it on a strict diet. They replaced steel body panels with aluminium, swapped heavy glass for plexiglas, and replaced excess with absolutely nothing.

Two hundred kilos vanished. Races were won by the hundred. 🏆

Every era's fastest Alfas have proudly carried the badge since, but the core philosophy is much older than the letters themselves: true speed isn't about what you bolt on. It's about what you dare to take away.

It is called the Quadrifoglio 🍀, but it is so much more than a logo. It’s a centuries-old promise of luck, speed, and remembrance.

For Alfa Romeo, it began in 1923, during the legendary Targa Florio race. Driver Ugo Sivocci, sick of his streak of second-place finishes, painted a green four-leaf clover inside a white triangle on his Alfa Romeo.

He won.

Tragedy struck later that year when Sivocci died testing a car that did not carry the clover. Devastated, Alfa Romeo never raced without it again.

Over a century later, the Quadrifoglio 🍀 still defines the fastest, most potent Alfas ever built. It’s a logo. It’s a promise of performance. It’s a lasting memorial.

1962. Alfa Romeo reveals the Giulia. ❤️

Four doors. A 1.6-litre twin-cam. A drag coefficient of 0.34. Aerodynamic enough that engineers of the era couldn't believe it was accidental. It wasn't.

The Giulia wasn't designed. It was engineered. And then given the proportions to match. Sixty-four years later, the name still carries weight.
