Our Product/Service
City-Ride-Nigeria is a technology company whose mission is to reimagine the way the Nigerians moves for the better. Our technology helps us develop and maintain multi-sided platforms that match consumers looking for rides and independent providers of ride services, as well as with other forms of transportation, including public transit and bikes.
How CRN Works: the technology stack
First, a rider let CRN know that he/she needs a ride. Then, CRN asks you where you are. Next, CRN finds a nearby driver and tells you when this driver will arrive to pick you up. After your ride is over, CRN asks you how it went. You rate the ride and the cost is automatically charged to your credit card or paid as cash.
CRN will be a ridesharing company with a mobile app, the idea behind is to make it easier to place an order for a ride using your smartphone, Customers can place orders for all sorts of transportation services using the app, from economy options to high-end luxury rides. Cities do what they can to offer public transportation, but gaps in the schedule exist. Cabs and other private transportation services exist, but if there isn’t a cab nearby, you can expect to wait a long time to get a ride. That’s where CRN comes in. Because of many availability of vehicles and drivers who are registered on the app, you can easily place orders for a ride and have a driver arrive within a short time.
Payments can be made either in cash to the driver or electronically to CRN, accounts would be reconciled every Monday and 15% goes to CRN and 85% to the driver, excesses are clarified and the party concerned is refunded the difference (CRN or driver).

CRN X Ride
CRN X is the standard way that people get around using CRN. Ridesharing with CRN X involves riding in sedans that seat four people. These cars are also not incredibly fancy as they’re just meant to take you from one place to another. They are standard economy-class cars.
CRN XL Ride
CRN XL works just like CRN XL, but with a different selection of cars. The XL in the name refers to the size of the cars that pick you up. CRN XL lets you ride with up to six people in an affordable SUV or van of some kind.
CRN Transit Ride
The CRN Transit system is different from the other ridesharing options because it works with public transportation instead of someone’s personal car. CRN Transit will offer real-time info on public transportation, like buses and subways, in the CRN app. The app also gives transit directions so that you can navigate public transportation even if you don’t normally use it. You can compare costs and travel times between the different CRN services to see if public transport makes more sense for your travel needs. Public transportation tends to take longer to get to a destination, but can be much cheaper than calling a private CRN ride. It all depends on what is more valuable: your time or your money.
CRN Lux Ride
In CRN Lux, the Lux stands for luxury. This ridesharing option is for those times when you want to splurge or celebrate, and a fancy car is a great way to do that. CRN Lux works like CRN X, but with higher-end luxury cars instead of economy-class sedans. You’ll be picked up by a luxury car for a group of up to four people. This service also lets you select highly-rated drivers in the area. This way, you can make sure you’re getting a quality driver with your quality ride. The price of this ride will be higher than using the CRN X or CRN XL options but offers a much smoother and high-class ride.
CRN Taxi / Buses Ride
CRN has another service that connects with local transportation called CRN Taxi/Buses. This option lets you hail for a cab/bus inside the CRN app and have a real taxi/bus show up instead of a personal vehicle. CRN Taxi/bus can help you avoid paying high fees for a surge in pricing on CRN by working with a local taxi/bus terminal or company and having the rates set ahead of time. These rates include a small booking fee as well as a metered rate and a gratuity.

For the rider
1. Accountability: City-Wide-Nigeria ensures that would-be riders have certainty they are being picked up and that their ride won't abandon them because he was hailed en route.
2. Customer Service - Because of the rating system drivers and riders are conscious of their conduct. Both have incentive to behave and respect the other party as both rank each other after the ride is complete. Drivers must maintain a high rating (above 4.5) in order to continue being drivers.
3. Ease of pay – Either cash or electronic
4. Supply - Because of price surge, which incentivized more drivers to sign on during busy times, passengers have a higher chance of finding a ride at all times.
For the driver
1. Safety - Removing cash from the cab industry disincentivizes robbery and theft for drivers.
2. Choice - Because of the rating system drivers have access to what the driving community thinks of passengers before they pick them up. This essentially weeds out "bad riders" much in the same way weeds out bad drivers.
3. Information - The CRN driver application gives real-time updates on the busiest (and surging) areas giving drivers a higher chance of finding riders. CRN also regularly emails and text drivers about main events happening though out the city as well as road closures so that drivers increase efficiency and maximize earning potential.

Geo-location – The technology is location based, it tries to establish the specifics of iOS and Android geo-location features. It has made it much easier to get information about the specifics of location features within the cities.
Taxi-booking apps rely on the following mapping and geo-location features:
1) Identifying a device’s location
The CRN app for iOS or android will use the Core-Location framework to locate a user’s device. The Core-Location framework provides classes and protocols to configure and schedule location delivery and send location events to the server. The Core-Location framework also lets CRN define geographic regions and monitor a device’s movements as it crosses defined boundaries.
Geo-location for the Android version of the CRN app will be implemented using Google’s Location APIs. They can intelligently manage underlying location technology while meeting various development needs when implementing location-based features.
2) Providing driving directions
To display point-to-point directions on a map within the app, developers of the CRN app for iOS will used MapKit. Registering the app as a routing app then makes directions available to the Maps app and all other mapping software on a user’s device.
Android routes and directions are made possible by the Google Maps Android API.
3) Integrating with mapping software
CRN will not go alone with maps and do what you would expect any location-based service to do — implemented Google Maps for both iPhone and Android versions of their app. Now, Google Maps will offer integration with CRN. But Google Maps might not be the only service that CRN will use. Geo-location is indeed the most important technology in CRN’s technology stack.
Push Notifications and SMS
After you order a ride, CRN sends you a couple of notifications: the first when a driver accepts your request, and the second when the driver is less than a minute away. They also notify you when a ride has been cancelled for some reason.
You can receive these messages as SMS or push notifications (you can set your preferred method in the settings).
