REMOTO inspection team was at a prospective client’s office to inspect their pool cars and staff bus ready to be placed on Annual Maintenance Plan. Before this time, our contact person had hinted us that their vehicles were in perfect shape. Our team got there and found that to be right only in look and feel but not in performance.
As soon as the ignition of one of the cars was turned, we knew something was wrong. The radiator fan was running at top speed and this had been the case for God knows how long. This is the work of bad technicians. Apparently, the thermostat was faulty and instead of replacing it, the fan was directly connected to the battery.
At REMOTO, our approach is to restore the vehicle to the way it should function not leaving any alterations made previously because those alterations create more problems that is better imagined than experienced.
If you are not familiar with how a vehicle functions, you will not know the implications of this kind of error. Here are the implications:
1. Once your thermostat is gone, your car may experience increased fuel consumption.
2. Higher wear and possible destruction of the catalytic pot (due to unburnt gasoline in the exhaust gas).
3. Reduction in car battery life or weakening of the battery if you play the car stereo when the engine is not running, and the car may not start.
4. Reduced life span of cooling fan because it's unregulated.
