One of the things we overlook when we buy our automobiles is the act of learning one or two things in our engine compartment which is capable of parking us at the roadside on a sunny afternoon sweating profusely.
No nau.. Haba-Mana!
How about driving to the mall in your stock denim with OffWhite polo and at the end of the day you beg people to help push your car. Worst still, you won't be able to enjoy the car's ACπ
Now what do you think that might be the cause to every time you park your car and the battery runs down?
You park your car but you must JumpStart or push it before it starts?
Sometimes the problem doesn't go beyond the car's Alternator.
To avoid such mistake and save yourself the embarrassment.
> Always keep tabs of your battery through your dashboard. I mean, monitor when the battery light comes up.
> Know when it starts doing hard-starting
> Monitor when your headlight starts dimming. (There are other signs but let's go with these)
When you notice some of these signs with your car, your Alternator might have been faulty that it doesn't charge the battery anymore.
The alternator works like your phone charger. Just like you charge your phone when NEPA restores light, the alternator charges the battery when the car is started and stops charging wjen you off your engine. When the charger spoils and your phone stops charging, it starts using the battery. That's how the car starts using the battery power when the alternator gets faulty.
Now how about you didn't know your phone charger got spoilt and you plugged in your phone with hope it's charging while it's not? That's how it is with the car.
I advice you buy a new Alternator for your car then.
But before sealing off the deal, here are some quick tips;
After assembling it in your car, start the car, use your multimeter and take the reading of the new or (Belgium) Alternator. It's supposed to read 15.0volts, then remove the battery head (the engine should be running while you do so) and load the headlights, radio, Ac and other loadables, you can even plug your phoneπ by now its supposed to come down to around 13.0 Volts and then, seal off the deal, its good, but if the readings have much difference from mine, get another one to avoid roadside embarrassment again. Not only that, over voltage can cause great damage on your car's electrical system.
