So was just in a way reminiscing about the times when I was young, and on weekends my father will call me out to lend a hand in washing his car as the boy or rather man of the house, it was fun back then as that was the only time it was legal to play with water under his watch😋, well as time went by it was no longer fun as i couldn’t play with water anymore🙄 and i went from washing foot-marts to washing the whole car or sometimes two or three cars sef😩……..but no matter how much I tried our cars would not look as clean and shiny as Mr Bayo’s car (our next door neighbour), though our car initially will look clean but after a while develop spots and streaks this gave me much concern🤔 that I decided to meet Mr Bayo to learn his secret. Well here are the car cleaning tips I learnt from Mr Bayo
Things you will need
*Two micro-fibre cloths (one for the paint and one for the wheels)
*A proper car soap (one that has a neutral PH, so it doesn’t damage your paint)
*Vacuum/ Brush
*Two buckets (one for soap and washing and the other for rinsing),
*And a bowl for scooping water.
If you have a car wash pump for spraying water, then you probably need only one bucket.
Firstly,
1. Empty your car i.e.
• Throw away the trash
• Take any stuff that doesn’t belong in the car to their proper place e.g. shoes, bags, etc.
• Take any stuff you will remove and replace after cleaning e.g. foot-mart
2. Clean your dash board, air vent, seats and seat belt with a micro-fibre cloth and vacuum/brush the car floor and trunk
3. Rinse your paint before wash. Wash your car from top to bottom, wash the paint with one micro-fibre cloth and wash the wheels with the other
4. Then dry with a cleaned and dry micro-fibre cloth.
Pro Tip 1: Clean your glass with a glass cleaner and a squeegee for a clean and clear car windscreen and mirrors. You can use a micro-fibre cloth in place of a squeegee if you don’t have one (check out this short DIY on making your own glass cleaner www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2Tk328PcLc ).
Pro Tip 2: You can use a car tire gel to make your tire shine and also protect it from the harshness of the sun’s UV rays. So you get the gel, put it on a foam applicator pad and add it to the side wall of the tires.
Pro Tip 3: The ideal time to wash your car is either very early in the morning or towards the end of the day. Washing when the sun is up will make the soap on your car to dry up and there will be spots and streaks on the finish.
