O2 Sensor
The Police Of The Engine
In simple terms, the oxygen sensor is responsible for monitoring the level of oxygen in the exhaust gas
Higher oxygen in exhaust gas will cause the O2 sensor to trigger a system lean report while higher fuel will cause it to trigger System Rich report
The O2 sensor sends the readings via Volts to the ECM while the ECM commands the AF sensor to adjust the Air-fuel mixture for balanced and effective combustion
The perfect air-fuel ratio reading for O2 sensor is 0.45V, when the system is too rich, the readings will go above 0.45 to 0.8 while system lean is 0.1 to 0.35
You can only deduce this through LIVE DATA ANALYSIS AND FREEZE FRAME
Bad O2 sensor will cause your car to consume fuel almost times 2, engine stalling, uneven combustion and black smoke from exhaust pipe which can be confused for bad MAF sensor
Infact, a bad O2 sensor will mess up with the AF sensor, MAF sensor, Catalyst Converter and ECM
So If you find out that your car is consuming too much fuel, and there's a check engine light on dashboard
Kindly run diagnosis and you will see DTC codes like P0154 to P0175,
Please note that DTC codes varies based on Car Brands oh
Replace the O2 sensor, Check for power light from ECM, check ground wires and check the resistance too
Fix the bad O2 sensor in your today, a bad one will mess up with your car's Combustion Chamber
It is easy to fix so you can do it yourself
Just locate the Bank 1, Sensor 1 and 2 and Bank 2 Sensor 1 and 2 then replace the bad one asap
