Noticed some clacking noise coming from the right wheel earlier. Decided to dismantle the whole suspension and wheel hub.

Here's the culprit. Worn out wheel bearing.
Off to market tomorrow to get a replacement.

New brake pads installed.

Q: How do you know when your pads are worn out?

A: First cue is the brake oil level is low. The brake MIL may illuminate on the dashboard. If it's bad, you may begin to hear unusual sounds from your wheels when braking.

How the cooling system of a car works. Just summary.

The engine produces a lot of heat (which is actually what translates to motion overall) but it's also risks overheating. That's where the cooling system comes in.

The system consists of the radiator, fans, thermostat, water pump, relays, sensors and fuses.
Now it's important to know the engine efficiency is closely tied to it's temperature. So there's a range, temperature boundaries where the engine operates optimally.

Normally, the cooling system activates by starting up the radiator fan when sensors pick up the high temperature boundary at which the engine requires cooling and deactivates after the temperature drops to the lower boundary.

So when your "rewire" makes your fan run at all times, your engine never gets to optimal temperature, reducing the efficiency of the engine. You may experience high fuel consumption and high carbon emissions.

Please don't listen to the temperature region argument. Nigeria is not hot region. When you hear heat wave in the Americas, it's not about scorching sun.

Note: Depending on manufacturer, your AC may be override radiator fan controls. Your fan may be permanently switch on if you're using Air Conditioning.

Had to consult the books.
Sometimes, instead of racking your brain for solutions, just pick up the service manual. Learn from the manufacturers, afterall they are the real brains. Glad I have comprehensive service manuals for most cars.

Finally got the radiator fan to work to OEM spec. Turns out there was no continuity in the circuit. Possibly that was why it was made to run directly in the first place.

An explanation on why the radiator fan was not designed to run at all times in the next post.

Ran into a challenge changing the rear brake pads. The brake piston is the screw type unlike the press type.

So I had a experienced welder, Oga Ademola fabricate a tool to use on the interim.
This should work.

Will keep updating you guys.

I had some Transmission Codes on the Accord.
Gear shifts thru 1 to 4 but suddenly kicks down to 3 with D light blinking on the dash.

I have to tell you, for any transmission problems, the culprit is usually the gear oil. Either short or wrong specification.
Honda gears are very sensitive to oil so use the OEM always, that's ATF DW1. (Toyota uses Type T-IV)

I'll drain whatever oil was inside and replace with fresh one.
Then we go from there.

Taking up a project. Excited to do this.

2008 Honda Accord V6 came in with all manner of MIL on the dash. Owner wants them all cleared. Reasonable time allowed. I'll be taking it one at a time.

I'll keep you posted.

This is a thermostat. It works with the cooling system to achieve the desired temperature to run your engine. Many mechanics may advise removal because they do not understand its function. Please DON'T.
Removing it will likely cause more fuel consumption and engine inefficiency.
