"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." - Luke 6:38
This verse teaches us that when we give and help others, God will bless us abundantly in return. It's a principle of sowing and reaping.
Let's look at some Bible figures who demonstrated this principle:
1. Joseph (Genesis 41-47): Joseph helped Pharaoh by interpreting his dreams and became a blessing to the entire Egyptian nation. Later, he helped his own family during a famine.
2. Daniel (Daniel 2-6): Daniel helped King Nebuchadnezzar by interpreting his dreams and later helped his friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in their time of need.
3. Jesus (Matthew 20:28): Jesus came to serve and give His life as a ransom for many. He taught His disciples to do the same, saying, "Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant."
4. Barnabas (Acts 4:36-37): Barnabas sold his land and gave the proceeds to the early Christian church, helping many in need.
These examples illustrate the importance of stretching out a helping hand to others, just as we would like to receive help ourselves. By doing so, we demonstrate God's love and kindness, and He will bless us abundantly in return.
