To help you out, we have put together a comprehensive vehicle checklist to ensure a safe and stress-free trip for you and your family.

✅ Check mileage: Before a long-distance trip, check car's service due & mileage. Service the car if due soon to avoid breakdowns. Schedule an early appointment with the car service center to ensure the car is in top condition.

✅ Check the condition of tyre: Car tyre is crucial for road safety as it affects grip during emergencies. Ensure proper tyre inflation and check for tread wear.

✅ Check the brake: The brakes play a vital role in ensuring safety while driving. As part of the pre-trip checklist, it's important to check both the brake pads and brake fluid levels. Ensure the fluid level is up to the recommended fill line for optimal performance.

✅ Check the engine oil: Your car's engine requires proper fluid levels to function smoothly and without issue on the road. While engine oil is typically replaced during a service appointment, it is also possible to check and change it at home. Use high-quality oil and be sure not to exceed the recommended level when checking the oil level and color using the dipstick to prevent sediment buildup in the engine reservoir.

✅ Car battery: Check your car battery regularly as it typically lasts around two years based on your driving style. Don't hesitate to replace it when needed, especially if you have trouble starting your engine.

✅ Reload your Touch ‘n Go card and E-Wallet: Using Touch 'N Go cards are mandatory for highway tolls, and drivers must reload them to prevent congestion. Reloads can be done anywhere or through the e-wallet app on smartphones.

✅ Check that your insurance and road tax is still valid: Don't forget to renew your vehicle's insurance and road tax to avoid any legal trouble and protect your car in case of an accident.
