Route Hunters members can be a special kind of unhinged. Our bro here buys a manual SW20 MR2 (respect). Bros MR2 was bought from East Malaysia sight unseen (mad respect). But bro did this all without letting the missus know. She would find out when the car broke down as we accompanied him driving the car from the port to his house. Fast forward to now though we refurbished the clutch pump, reinstalled a new spoiler including respraying. New set of spark plugs, fuel filter, brake pads and brake fluid replacement and bleeding later the car runs like a dream! All done in house at Route Hunters Garage. If you do the basic upkeeps these Japanese icons of the 90s will sing all day long. We need more cars like this. ?

The first time we saw this gorgeous E39 530i was during a Route Hunters Drive Event. The owner sent the car in for the concern of a 'lazy clutch pickup'.

We knew we had to rework the clutch pumps and the clutch plate. But instead of resorting to a standard set, we opted for an upgraded single flywheel setup with a sportier clutch. To support the new hardware both the clutch master and slave pumps were changed to new units. That was the easy part. Bleeding the clutch was NOTORIOUSLY difficult.

After test driving the car we felt it was not balanced in the handling department. The tired shocks were too harsh with no traction. Since the car already came with H&R coils, we mated them to the OEM M Sport dampers.

This two parts combo now made the car far more responsive and a dream around turns, with no loss of traction. In the owners own words, the car feels far lighter on its feet, with the dampers giving the right balance between ride comfort, and sporty handling.

MISFIRE CAUSES ABS MODULE ERROR CODE?

Yes it does, the ABS module is one of the key elements in the vehicles stability management system and it monitors the engines power output to gauge how much power to cut, brakes to apply, where and how to maintain the vehicles stability.

Which is why this hardworking Q7 3.0 TFSI had a multitude of stability system errors, all because of a misfire. 6 brand new spec correct plugs and coils later, she pulls like a train.
