𝙋𝘼𝙆𝙀𝙇𝙊 𝙃𝘼𝙑𝙀 𝙔𝙊𝙐 𝘾𝙊𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙀𝘿 𝙎𝙊 𝙔𝙊𝙐 𝘾𝘼𝙉 𝘿𝙍𝙄𝙑𝙀 𝙒𝙄𝙏𝙃 𝙋𝙀𝘼𝘾𝙀 𝙊𝙁 𝙈𝙄𝙉𝘿

𝗟𝗦𝗣𝗜 stands for 𝗟𝗼𝘄-𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗜𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. It is an abnormal, highly destructive combustion event in modern turbocharged gasoline direct-injection (TGDI) engines where the fuel-air mixture ignites spontaneously before the spark plug fires, causing extreme cylinder pressure and catastrophic engine damage.

🔴 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗟𝗦𝗣𝗜 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗬𝗼𝘂?
If you drive a modern car—especially one with a smaller, turbocharged engine (like a Ford EcoBoost, Honda Turbo, or VW TSI) - LSPI is a major concern. Here is how it impacts your vehicle:

▶ 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗰 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲: Unlike standard engine knocking, a single LSPI event creates shockwaves that can instantly crack pistons, shatter piston rings, or bend connecting rods, resulting in massive repair bills.

▶ 𝗨𝗻𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 "𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝗰𝗸": It cannot be easily predicted by your car's computer or prevented by the spark timing systems.

🔴 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗜𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗦𝗣𝗜:

▶ 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗶𝗹: Always check your owner's manual for the exact oil specification. Modern motor oils (like those rated 𝗔𝗣𝗜 𝗦𝗣 or 𝗜𝗟𝗦𝗔𝗖 𝗚𝗙-𝟲) are specifically formulated with chemical additives to prevent LSPI.

We're excited to see what 2026 holds for this gentleman racer. With back-to-back major holidays recently past, for some the proper daily grind only just started. So let's warm up the tires and stretch some legs!

Oh hello Facebook, it’s been a while… time to dust off the cobwebs.

If you didn’t know, MSF Solo Master Round 1 is happening on 12 April 2026. Last year, finished all three rounds on top with two wins and a second place. That definitely got the motivation going again.

First thing’s first, some basic prep.

Dropped by UpFive performance for a full service, which consists of engine oil, L*D oil, and gearbox oil.
