🚨 66,000 KM WHEN WE BOUGHT IT… BUT THE SERVICE CENTRE SHOWED 99,000 KM. 😳
Honestly, today is a very disappointing day for us.
We purchased this BMW 330i 2021 through one of the most well-known car-bidding platforms in Malaysia.
During the bidding, the mileage shown was around 66,000 KM.
The car looked AMAZING.
The photos were beautiful.
The exterior was beautiful.
The interior was beautiful.
Everything looked perfect.
Honestly, based on what we saw, we thought we had found a very well-maintained BMW 330i.
So we bid for it.
We won it.
We brought the car back.
As usual, before we sell any car to our customer, we sent it to the BMW authorised service centre for inspection and to check the service history.
And then…
💥 WE FOUND OUT THE TRUTH.
The service centre checked the car’s complete service records and told us:
LAST SERVICE RECORDED: 99,000 KM.
But when we bought the car, the mileage shown was only around:
66,000 KM.
That’s a difference of approximately 30,000 KM.
And here’s the important part.
For BMW, you can actually check the car’s service history through the authorised service centre.
Someone may be able to change what is displayed inside the car, including the mileage information shown to the buyer.
But when we went to the BMW service centre, they were able to pull up the complete service records from the past few years.
That’s how we discovered the discrepancy.
So this is a lesson for everyone buying a used BMW:
DON’T JUST LOOK AT THE MILEAGE ON THE DASHBOARD.
GO TO THE AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE AND VERIFY THE SERVICE RECORDS.
Now, we want to be completely transparent.
👉 Yes, there is a mileage discrepancy.
👉 We are telling the next buyer upfront.
👉 But the actual condition of this car is GOOD.
👉 The previous owner clearly took very good care of the car.
👉 No flood. No major accident.
And yes, the car still has warranty until December this year.
For the warranty situation, come and meet us personally. We will explain everything face-to-face.
We could simply put the car back into the bidding platform and let someone else buy it.
But we don’t want to create the next victim.
So we decided to take the loss ourselves.
