Untuk pengetahuan pemandu yang kerap menggunakan lebuhraya, pihak lebuh raya menyediakan dua, tiga atau empat lorong dengan fungsi yang tersendiri. Lorong kanan adalah laluan memotong bagi kenderaan ringan, manakala lorong tengah untuk kenderaan berat memotong atau kenderaan ringan bergerak laju.

Lorong paling kiri p**a adalah lorong perlahan bagi kenderaan ringan dan juga ia merupakan laluan untuk kenderaan berat, manakala lorong kecemasan adalah laluan penyelenggaraan lebuh raya, penguat kuasa dan bantuan semasa kemalangan.

Tapi entah dari mana datang nya ajaran sesat yang mengatakan lorong tengah di gunakan untuk memandu secara santai2,ingat jika kita memandu perlahan di lorong tengah,maka pergerakan aliran trafik di lebuh raya akan menjadi tidak lancar dan akhir nya mengganggu pergerakan orang lain dan kita lah punca nya sebab menjadi ‘kepala kereta api’ di lebuh raya.
