Small part, big impact! 🛠️ Think of the PCV Valve (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) as your engine’s respiratory system. It’s tiny and inexpensive, but it’s the primary guard against oil leaks and blown seals.

Here is how this little hero works:

1. The Low Speed "Breath" (Low RPM) 🐢
When you’re idling or slowing down, engine vacuum is high. This pulls the internal valve upward, narrowing the passage (Grey Arrow).

Why? It prevents the engine from sucking in too much air, keeping your idle smooth and your fuel mixture perfect.

2. The High Speed "Exhale" (High RPM) 🚀
When you hit the gas, engine vacuum drops, but internal pressure builds up fast. The spring inside pushes the valve wide open (Red Arrow).

Why? This allows the engine to quickly dump out harmful gases and pressure before they can blow out your oil gaskets.

⚠️ Is your engine "clogged"?
At Craft Skills, we find that a dirty PCV valve is a top cause for unexplained oil consumption.

The Pro Tip: Try the "Shake Test." Remove the valve and give it a shake.

Rattle? It’s likely good.

Silent? It’s clogged with gunk and needs to be replaced immediately to save your seals!

Ni drum yang bawak clutch dan piston gearbox auto (4AT). Kereta Perodua Axia tahun 2017. Kalau gear reverse tak masuk, diikuti dengan gear forward tak masuk jugak, sebahagian besar yang repair kat bengkel kami ni, punca nya kat sini. Forward drum dan transmission oil pump dah calar. Kat gambar 3 tu oil pump nya, inner side. Kat hujung shaft nya duduk 3 fibre o’ring. Kalau perati, dah makan dah sekali dengan drum tempat dia duduk.

Yang ni boleh categorize dalam catastrophic failure dah. Tukar dua benda ni, recon or new.

Saya pernah share dulu, yang memanaskan enjin yang dah tak gerak semalaman, selain nak capai optimum temperature untuk fuel efficiency, juga dibuat untuk memastikan vibration kereta kurang. Jadi possibility benda ni nak calar tu kurang. Sebab enjin sejuk, vibration dia kuat sikit, sebab benda ni duduknya bawah torque converter. Ada input shaft sana. Jadi vibration dari engine diterima direct oleh gearbox.

While others, ceteris paribus.

Btw, kalau ada yang berpendapat pakai treatment apa bagai, itu semua terpulang pada pendapat masing masing. Yes and no. Treatment melembutkan getah piston yang dah mula keras. Tapi treatment langsung tak membantu dalam bab calar.

Do with that what you will. Tiada paksaan dalam mempercayai atau tidak dan tiada halangan dalam mencuba option yang ada satu per satu.
