How Far from Your Vehicle Should a Warning Triangle be Placed | Isuzu D-Max Malaysia

It is recommended that you always carry a warning triangle in your vehicle in case of an accident or emergency.

A warning triangle is a small red triangle with several flashing LED lights or is highly reflective. They are intended to warn other road users that there is a potential hazard approaching and to proceed with caution.

The use of warning triangles alerts other drivers to a potential hazard and allows them plenty of time to slow down. This not only will keep them safe but also protects you and any passengers you may have standing and waiting for help by the side of the road.

When you have to stop at the side of the road, either due to an accident or a breakdown, you should find a safe spot to stop, preferably off the road, and turn on your hazard warning lights. If visibility is poor, you should also keep your sidelights on.

Everyone in the car, including the driver, should get out and stand somewhere safe, away from oncoming traffic, and away from the vehicle.

Place your warning triangle on flat ground at least 45 metres away from your vehicle on the same side of the road so that it will be easily seen by other cars. If your warning triangle has LED lights, switch them on.
